I know I should be totally thankful that the kids are not scared of the potty but oh my goodness every 5 minutes they want to go to the potty! DS is like a dog (LOL) and goes a little bit every time. DD just wants to go because he does (but doesn't usually go every time). I have 2 potty seats and then a toilet seat and they both want the toilet seat not the pottys. LOL SO they have to take turns. Today was Day 1 of the 3 Day Potty Training method and I was in the bathroom ALL day. My LO (12 months) is teething and wanted me. My husband well he was here and he somewhat entertained the baby but overall it was me running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to clean up after accidents, make meals, get kids to the potty, hold the screaming baby. It was a horrendous day. To add to it somehow there are ants (that bite!) in the twins room so I spent the day fighting them off as well. Seriously feel like I'm going to fall over. At the end of day 1 we only went through maybe 5-8 pairs of undies per kid and we even got a poop in the potty from DD!! That was THE most exciting thing ever!! I started this weekend because DS is just READY and I was hoping DD would follow because she seems to care less. So far it's worked and she pooped! WOO HOO! I'm trying really hard to watch them every second but let's get real with a 12 month old and ants I'm kind of fighting a losing battle. LOL We had a few accidents BUT towards the end of the day they were running to the bathroom saying POTTY! when they would have an accident. So I'm hoping tomorrow we'll be well on our way to success. I kind of cheated and put them to bed in underwear and rubber pants. I did it at naptime and DS took them off anyway and ended up peeing on his bed at the beginning of naptime but woke up dry and DD konked out right away and was just OUT and she woke up wet and her bed was wet but not soaked so I'm pretty sure the rubber pants don't do much but help contain the mess a little. LOL We'll see how tonight goes. ANYWAY - needed to tell someone my story of the day who might care ;). Has anyone else ran into this scenario that they want to go to the toilet constantly? What do you do? Does it get better? I was really starting to lose my patience by the end of the day trying to get dinner, pajamas, etc... Do they just naturally start holding it longer? Is it just new and exciting right now and it will just become normal (hopefully tomorrow!?? LOL)? Oh and they LOVE flushing the toilet. A little too much. LOL

The wanting to go all the time lasted a couple weeks and then the novelty wore off. I won't lie, it was super annoying, but I'm glad I stuck it out in the end.

Sounds like you are making good progress. :clapping:

We had the wanting to go all the time at the beginning too. It's a phase, the excitement of it should wear off soon enough (I think it was a couple of weeks for us too). Although it's a bit annoying it's definitely better to have them excited and wanting to go all the time instead of uninterested and not wanting to go.

sounds like a lot of progress! don't lose hope... it will get better! yes, the novelty will wear off, and they will start holding it longer.

in the beginning I really had to limit liquids almost more than 3 hrs before bedtime... now they can have some closer to bedtime and it's ok. though I kinda still cheat and usually take them to pee right before I go to bed, usually 2-3 hrs after they get in bed. and right now (after 7 mo. of being diaper free) they are definitely waking up dry... my ds can mostly go all night w/o the extra pee break at 11p... but my dd really needs it. that might be a pain to some, but for me it's not a huge deal. they are now waking dry and both can get out and go to the potty and then come in to our room in the morning with big smiles!

Stick with it, and it sounds like you will see great progress!! one child may be able to hold it longer than the other... my dd can usually hold it a lot longer during the day than my ds, but both are doing great now. in the beginning my ds would really need to go every 45 min. or so...

Sounds great for a first day, kick your dh though... and get terro for those ants. It works great! Just put it out all day and close your kids room or something...
