Potty Training: Just sitting there..no pee or poop!

Hi Ladies,

I started potty training my 2 & half yr olg girls this week. They don't like the potty but they like mummy's potty with the Dora seats!! They go & sit there where ever I ask them to go but they're not doing anything and still pee and poop in pull ups! I give them lots of fluids & make them read a book etc. They only tell me after they've done pee!

What shall I do? Should I continue? What else can I do to make them peee there!!!

Are they showing any signs of being ready to PT?

Sounds like they they may not be ready.

 

I agree with the pp's. Maybe stop for a few weeks and then start up again when they are more ready.

 

thanks Ladies, I have decided on stopping for a while...it's driving me crazy lol!! thanks for the advice.

 

Mine sat on their poties for 8 months - never to pee or poop. They only did so 4 days ago when I brought the potties outside and got them naked. They were peeing within 2 1/2 hours, pooping 2 days later. I'd try that before giving up. It has worked with a TON of kids. Don't ask me why.................. but it does.

 

I would wait a little too and maybe institute some M&Ms as a reward when you get there again.

 

My girls loved sticker charts. They would do just about anything to put a star on a chart, maybe try a sticker chart as well.
