I let the boys run around upstairs in the hallway without a diaper after bath time the other day. There's sort of a balcony up there so I could see what they were up to while I was in the kitchen for a few minutes. Then the hysterical laughing started and I knew I had to go and inspect what was going on. On my way, I stepped in a puddle, and started to yell at the dog before I realized that it was coming from upstairs. I turned and looked up at the balcony to see two little dudes peeing through the railings.

They were quite happy to do so.. should I just install a drain at the bottom of the balcony to encourage them to potty train?

    Hahahaha!!!! That is HYSTERICAL!

You know, that's not a bad idea! My SIL's parents are immigrants and they PT'd my youngest nephew by teaching him to pee outside. We thought they were insane. But after a few weeks of that they told him to use the toilet and he did! Because peeing outside was fun, he did it. Then it was an easier transition to indoors than diaper to toilet would have been.

Oh Liam thinks it's awesome to pee off the deck between the deck rails! But try to get the kid to pee on the potty consistently, nope, not gonna happen! Put him in the pool and he'll refuse to pee in it, but let him wear undies in the house and he'll leave puddles everywhere! LOL!

    Jen, that is awesome.
If you could, I think installing the drain would be a fun idea!

    That is absolutely hysterical!

Our last house had a two story foyer and the part of the hall that ran across it had a railing. My two never peed off it, but they would stand their naked and put their penises through it, put their butts up against it.. What is so fascinating about it?? :rotflmbo:

Maybe this is worth mentioning, but a woman I used to work with suggested taking a square of toilet paper, draw a boat on it and let it float in the toilet, then have the boys 'sink the boat' to encourage them to pee in the potty. It worked for us!
