I wouldn't say that we are fully potty training, but we definitely "play" around with it. My boys go on the potty every morning after they get up and eat breakfast, before nap time, after nap time, and before bed. I can say for sure that they know they can pee in it because they almost always do and it's not because of cold air exposure or any of that. They don't just pee randomly when you change their diapers cause of cold air or any of that. In fact we could let them run around naked and they wouldn't just pee, they know it's on the potty. Anyways, this isn't really about if we should potty train or not. We are having issues because their pee shoots straight up and over the little blocker things so I end up cleaning up pee. We have 2 potties, the Safety 1st 3 in 1 that has barely no blocker and then we have a mini bjorn one that has a slightly bigger blocker. I know I can eventually teach them to hold their little wee wees downward, but they're not old enough for that.

I think there's a bigger issue with it all though. They were born at 29 weeks, came home 55 days later uncircumsized.. Took them back less than a week later and they circumsized them. They were still under 5 pounds at that point. We've had skin reattachment for a while and the doctors keep saying they'll grow out of it and it'll be fine. I really think that's the reason their pee shoots up so much. The skin is reattached at the top, pulling the wee wee upwards more. Has anyone had this issue before? Did it finally fix itself? Need another surgery of some sort?

Also, anyone have recommendations on different potties? One with hopefully higher blocking things.

Have you tried putting them on the big potty (your toilet) facing backwards? That kind of makes them lean forward if I remember correctly. Would they lean forward on the little potty chair? Good luck!

For my son, I have the Sesame Street 3 in 1 potty There are times when he misses the blocker but for the most part he knows to point down and usually hits the potty.
As for the circumcision issue, I hope some other members will have some ideas for you. Good luck, it sounds like your boys are off to a good start.

Wyatt does really good with leaning forward so sometimes it's not an issue with him, other times it still is. I'll have to try backwards on the big toilet before nap time and see if it helps.

The only experience I have with circumcision is my brother. He was a premiee and they didn't circumcise him until he was like 3... Don't know if they will have to do more surgery to take more skin? My brother is now almost 30... so that was a long time ago. Good luck.

We have these potties, and they work out great for my boys - no matter which way their wee wee is flowing. The potty comes up high that it blocks the pee.
