Okay, Liam has been telling me when he poops, when he's wet, etc for maybe a month now. A couple of nights ago, he told daddy he wanted to go potty and Doug let him sit on the little potty, but with his diaper on. Fast forward to this evening. He was in the kitchen and told me "I need go potty" as he walked toward the bathroom pulling down his pants. I took off his diaper and sat him on the toilet with the little potty seat. I was shocked when he started peeing. We did high fives and sang the peepee on the potty song and I said "Okay, all done buddy?" "No, mama, not done". Well, next thing I know, he poops on the potty as well. Is this a fluke? How do I keep it up with him? The other two were over 3 so I kind of let them lead it. How do I do this with the little guy?

I haven't come to this point yet but just wanted to say WTG Liam and I think as much positive praise as you can.

Wow that's great, I would just go with the flow, taking his lead.

Yay Liam! I say don't let this opportunity go. Alex started at 16 months doing this also. He was potty trained before he was 2 (my girls were, as well). I did the naked bottom thing with my kids (I think that's easier to do when they are younger...when they get older it's kinda yucky). After they accomplished a couple of accident free days nakie, then I'd put on the unders. And then the clothes. You can do it!! :clapping: He can do it!

I'm going to be looking to you for advice during this!! I knew that you had done it early. I was just beside myself when he did it. He even wanted a pull up at bedtime (which I put over his diaper ;), not quite that crazy yet).

Good for Liam. I also say go with it. Let him take the lead and maybe do some reminders!! He just wants to be like the rest of the family - how cute!!

    Good luck!

That is great Maureen!! WTG Liam! Josh showed interest around 18 months, I went with it, and he was daytime trained shortly thereafter! I potty trained all of my kids basically like Heather does. Go for it!

    Thanks, Ladies.

He used the potty once yesterday as well. And this morning he sat on it, but nothing. I'm going to keep asking, putting him on and see where we go. Santa did have to pick up some underwear for his stocking the other night! It's great because Nolie and Meggie are so excited about it as well that it's a freakin' party anytime he does it!
