Potty chair help !

I figured I'd ask you guys for advice on a potty chair since I've never come across this problem myself !

During the week I babysit my 27 month old cousin and he is very good at using the potty. (I have NO idea how my cousin trained him SO fast !) The problem is .. first of all he is tiny ... he's no bigger than an 18 month old and so using the big toilet is hard for him. He doesn't talk yet and so he can't/won't communicate to me that he has to go potty so he needs a little potty that he can access on his own .. but the pee ends up on the floor. He hasn't figured out how to hold his penis down yet and I'm tired of wiping up pee especially since he is trying to go on the potty. His is the Cars one .. and it really is a horrible design. The rim leaks and the blocker thingy isn't high enough. Does anyone have any advice on a better potty chair for a little boy ?

 

This is the one we have and it works really well for boys. My one son has an issue with the opening of his penis and his urine flow will go straight out or up instead of down. When he goes on this chair, we don't have any mess to clean up.

I bought theirs at Walmart, but when I just checked their website they no longer carry it. You might get lucky and find it in a store. I paid $12 for it.

 

Do you have an Ikea near you? If so, the potties there are great! And cheap!

 

Yeah, the Ikea potties are small too.

we had the Baby Bjorn one and it was ok - Ian had the habit of standing up when he would start to pee...

 

if you haven't tried a small step stool for him to stand and pee at the toilet that's another idea. and also keep repeating for him to hold his penis down. good luck! he'll get it.

 

We have the baby bjorn potties and they're okay-- except for the pee everywhere issue from little boys. We've used the frog potty from fisher price at friends' houses and the splash guard is way, way better, in my opinion!
