potting training questions

my one son shows ZERO interest in sitting on the large potty with the seat insert OR the small potty on the floor.
not sure which one is better to use and why.

my one LO will tell me to move out of his room when he's ready to poop. he tells me to leave and closes the door. for the past few days i've been putting him on the potty but he doesn't go no matter how long we sit there or how long i bribe him for chocolate. (is that bad, lol??)

any tips?
id like to get one out of diapers ASAP with this new baby coming!
he can stand in the tub and pee on demand but i can't get him to pee on the toilet

 

Unfortunately, when they are ready, they are ready. Often times when a baby is born, the older ones revert to back to diapers. At least that is what my SIL found, but I have heard it happens with others as well. My twins got nickels for every time they went potty/poop in the toilet whereas my youngest does not care about money, he gets m&ms. Good luck. You might just want to take a back seat on toilet training for a bit. At least that is what *I* would do. You really cannot force it. You will be more frustrated than anything.

 

I agree 100%. My one DS was just shy of 3 1/2 and my other DS was pee PT about 2 months later, poop came later.

If he's asking for privacy in his room, maybe he wants it in the bathroom as well. :unknw: Try closing the door in the bathroom and give him some privacy.

I never liked the potty chairs. For me it was just added work; you have to put the contents in the toilet anyways...right? I bought two of them, but only used them when we went camping. Both of mine preferred going on the toilet; one with the ring, the other not.

 

i tried privacy in the bathroom too.
he just calls me in and tells me to sit on the floor.
