Posting Children's Names and Photos

How do you all feel about posting your children's names and other information on the internet? I see some of you do post first names and others do not. Also how safe is it to post their pictures on a forum like this? I'm just wondering what others think about it. I haven't yet posted my kid's names, not sure I will...still debating.

 

I think that one can scare oneself silly thinking that the boogeyman is running around the internet after you - I've been posting about myself (in one way or another) since 1997 and no one has ever found me, come after me or even sent me any nasty emails...but its all your comfort level - I'm neither a hollywood star nor a politician so I doubt anyone is going to be interested in my boring little life!

 

I will post first and middle names and photos and what state I am from, but I have never posted a specific area. I am very careful not to post locations. I mean, the chances are pretty slim, seeing how there are millions of people in this country, that anyone is ever going to see my kids out in public and say, "Hey, I saw your picture on the internet." But, I also don't want to make it easy for any lunatic as well, so no locations for us.

 

I agree with the above. I enjoy sharing pictures of my daughter and can't wait to share some of the twins when they are born.

 

I agree with the PP's. I do not post my last name though.

 

Thanks girls! We live in a really small town. So sometimes I feel like everyone already knows so much about my family. Small town living for ya! Anyways, I have never really thought it through much until right now...thinking about sharing the twins names. I guess cause I feel some of our kids names are really orginial they could get tracked somehow. I mean how many little boys have the name Jude Revelation there I shared one I appreciate your opinions and answers to these questions.

For me personally, I do share my kids names {only first}.

 

I shared their names when they were born. But not so much anymore. It doesnt really make me nervous. I just dont feel the need to share everything about everything... Ya know?

Cool name!! Sounds like something from the Beatles!!

 

It's funny how many people break out singing "Hey Jude" when they hear his name. I even had an American border guard start singing while checking out our kids' birth certificates. Jude was actually named after the last two books in the Bible.
