I've heard that some women (and some cultures) swear by these to get one's shape back after birth. Has anyone tried one, and if so, which brand? What did you think?

Also, I assume it's only an option for a vaginal birth and not a c-section?

I had a c/s and was given a "wrap" by the hospital to help me gain strength in my muscles. :good: I do credit that thing to helping me move around quicker and with more confidence. Without it on, I felt like I was guarding my c/s scar and was walking hunched over. :pardon: But I wore it for six weeks and I think it helped me alot. I don't know if it had a name. Sorry, I hope someone comes along that can give you the name of it.

I read about this on another forum I visit. I think a lot of women just use ace bandages to wrap it tight, but there are some specific postpartum wraps out there. Brooke Burke created one after she had her baby, (but she just used ace bandages) She sells them on her website at babooshbaby.com. There is also bellybandit.com. Both of those are pretty expensive. I think I've also seen some kind of postpartum band at babies are us for pretty cheap. I haven't tried any of them, but I'm planning on it after this pregnancy.

I had a c/s and wore one and loved it. Medela has one but I found it to be too tight. I wore my Bella Bands folded in half and that worked great for me. It gave me gentle compression so my incision wasn't affected by gravity and that area didn't move around. I wore it 24/7 and I really liked it while sleeping. I think it helped things tighten back up and with the swelling. The Bella Band didn't pinch in where my incision was like the Medela wrap. I'm sure it would be great either way you deliver.

I'd not heard of this before but it sounds really neat!

Thanks ladies. I've seen the Brooke Burke one but wasn't sure if it was just a gimmick...

DH picked one up for me a few days after they were born b/c I kept complaining that it felt like my insides were all loose and about to fall out LOL. It helped pull everything back in, but I only used it for about a week.
