post pardum check up

I have my 6 week post pardum apt today - what will they be doing?

 

I had a c-section with my twins. When I went to my 6-week the OB checked my incision/scar, felt my uterus to make sure that it was back to the size it should be and then she did a Pap since it had been 1-year since my last one.

With my older DS I had a vaginal birth and the exam was basically the same except she checked where the episiotomy had been. I also had a Pap b/c it had been a year since my last one.

I'm not sure if they always check your cervix at the 6-week pp visit or not b/c both times I've been due for a Pap, so my cervix has been checked, too.

It is not bad at all. They also asked questions regarding my emotions, sleep, etc. - looking for any signs of PPD, I think.

 

I had a vaginal delivery - my 6 week check up was the same as a yearly appointment if I remember correctly.

yep.. pap if due

 

I had my 6 week cheekup also today and thats all they did. Pap and check to make sure the uterus was back to normal.

 

Pap and I had my IUD inserted.

 

My doctor basically just asked how I was feeling--he didn't check anything. I was kind of surprised, as past doctors have at least done a quick cervical exam. He tends not to do many vaginal checks, though.
