I'm still bleeding at 6 weeks, I go for my 6 week follow-up today so I'm going to ask when the bleeding will stop.

    I bled for 12 weeks <_<

I was so not impressed, I thought it was because I was on blood thinners, but the ob said not necessarily, 12 weeks was within the norm.

I bled for 10 weeks (vaginal birth), not heavy, but enough to wear a pad for that time. (I also had an IUD placed at 6 weeks, so that might have prolonged it, but I was bleeding at my 6 week check up still.)

(and it would speed up some when I would exercise)

i was about 8 weeks...but it came back if I overdid it with excercising, walking etc.

I'd always call my dr. though if you aren't sure.

    Thanks!

I went about 10-11 weeks after my c-setion before it stopped. The dr said it was normal. Call the dr if you are nervous, that it what they are there for.

I'm only at 3 weeks...with a singleton vag birth...but it's unusual for me to be bleeding this long. I think longer than 6 weeks definitely warrants a call to the ob/gyn. If you are bf that can prolong it according to the nurse I spoke with yesterday. Also, I imagine that if you go on the mini-pill that might impact your hormone levels, possibily prolong it...or like the pp said getting the IUD. I was also told that if you've had a break of more than 4 days, and bleeding resumes it's considered a separate incident...like maybe actually getting your period back. Don't know about that, but it's something to consider. I'm really eager for mine to stop..can't imagine it going longer than 6 weeks though. Maybe you need to slow down if you are being too active??

I bleed for 10 weeks - OB said to call after 12 weeks ....ugh...I swear - you get out of 9 months of periods, just to get them all at once after the babies are born!!

    Hey

I'm at week 6 and still bleeding, though it has been getting lighter - it's still there. I had my six week follow up today and asked my doctor about it because I too thought it was suppose to stop around week 4. He checked me out and said everything is fine and that it should stop any day but can go on for 12 weeks!! (I too had a c-section, which he said can make healing go alittle slower then a vag. delivery and cause the bleeding to last longer).

He said just when it is going to stop I should get my period! FUN FUN! He also told me birth control should help the bleeding and help regulate me again.

I bled for 3 months after my twin pregnancy. I am still bleeding after this one as well. A lot of it is partially due to having my Mirena put in.
