Well my dr. has possibly decided to send me home this wednesday after a growth ultrasound. Because I've not being having contractions... I mean I think I've had 2 the whole time I've been here which where just BH and I've been here a month. The babies are looking very well.. my question is.. it's just be and my husband at home.. and I know I have to follow the same restrictions at home as I did here... but they have to understand .. I still have baby shopping to do.. bottles, blankets..etc. Will they accomodate me with a wheelchair? Just until the babies are here... and then they can have it back. it's not like I want to keep it? Will they send me home with the same meds? etc?!

Congrats on possibly going home. How far along are you?

I guess it will depend on how strict of bedrest you will be on as to if you will even be allowed to do baby shopping. If you are on strict bedrest you will not be able to go shopping, your DH will have to do it. Please be sure to follow your drs. orders, you don't want to risk the babies coming at home. Good luck, and keep us posted. :hug99:

Bless your heart! as far as the meds go....that is something that your DR. will have to decide....they sent me home with Terbutaline...and then I was told not to take it! if I had too many contractions in an hour...to report to L & D....I asked my Dr. to prescribe me a wheelchair...so I could use it...he said no..I DIDN'T need to go anywhere....you may have to do your shopping online....have you or are you going to have a shower? You can register online. I do know that some stores have wheelchairs in them...but the most important thing is that you follow Dr.'s orders to a tee....When the babies get here they have very minimal needs...you can always shop when you get out of the hospital...I am so sorry that this is being put on you at this time....

    We are here for you!

Please just make sure to follow all the doctors orders. If you are sent home on strict bedrest, then your DH may have to do all the shopping or you'll have to do it online. (I've gotten a lot done online, so it can be done!)

    Congrats on maybe going home!

If you are sent home on bedrest, you need to remain on strict bedrest. Yes, there is a lot to do in order to prepare for a baby, or babies(!!!!). Use the internet and order that way. Or build a list together with your DH (again using the internet) of the things that you need and send him out to go get them.

You do not want to over do it and end up with babies that arrive too early. I personally took my bedrest orders seriously after I was discharged from hospital bedrest. I could not have lived with the guilt if something were to have happened.

I do plan to follow the dr.'s orders, and I do take my bedrest seriously, if I didn't.. I wouldn't have lasted a month in here... and I am proud to say that I did.! I'm not on strict bed rest you could say.. I have bathroom and shower privileges.. I can walk the halls, no heavy lifiting, pulling, tugging, and etc., just no excessive time on my feet. Which I can't, stay on my feet, I can't even walk.. because my pelvic bone is "seperating"... I believe already to be seperated!..lol.... <~~ worst pain ever!!! That's why I asked for a wheelchair.. and he is going to write me a order for one!!! Best man ever!!! The only reason I was put on bedrest was for a shortened cervix.. it was a 1.6 a month ago.. and hasn't changed!!! THANK GOD & PTL :yahoo: .. I've only had like two contractions in a month.. and they were BH... By my LMP I am 32wks. and 2days(boys are also measuring with my LMP).. but by their calender I'm 31wks. 2 days.. any one no why they do that?! Neways.. he said anytime after 34wks. we would be good.. and apparently it's going to be a c-section baby a is presenting butt down!!!!

I spent weeks 24-28 on hospital bedrest, and got sent home at 28 weeks. I was told to be just as strict at home as I was in the hospital. So really, I wouldn't recommend going out shopping, etc. I delivered 3 weeks after getting discharged, and that was with sticking to the strict bedrest at home. The only time I got up and around was to go to a weekly peri appointment, otherwise I laid on the couch or in bed.

Ask for help from friends, family, etc. Online shop. When my babies came home, we were ready for them, and I never got to do any baby shopping while PG. My mom and sister painted their room, organized their stuff, all of that. It's hard for you not to get to be a part of all that, but baking those babies as long as possible is way more important.

    Hang in there.

Even though my little ones are already 4, I thought I would give my own personal experience. I did 3 weeks of bedrest at home..I was very strict with it but was dilating too fast. I went into the hospital for a week and when they let me out, after being on bedrest another week, I was DESPERATE to be out of the house. My mistake was going to eat Chinese food with my family. That SHORT time of walking and sitting cost me another month on bedrest back in the hospital! My advice is to do what you are supposed to do. I still have the guilt that had I not gone for Chinese that maybe they would have stayed in just a little while longer...Good luck to you all=)
