i am having nausea and tightening on my right side. it keeps tightening and stopping. with minor cramping (almost like constipation cramps)....i just saw the OB this morning and these just started about a half hour ago. i have been drinking water and laying down but the tightening just gets worse. DH thinks it's panic attack and i just had a negative FFN test on sunday.....should i be worried??? should i go to triage??? what would you do??????

At least call the on call doctor and tell them what's going on. And lay down, and drink lots of water. Time the contractions and see if they are consistant.

My doctor said to drink two big glasses of water and lay down on my left side afterwards for an hour. If there were six or more in the hour (after the water), to call back (and go be checked).

It would be good to call your doctor and see what he/she says.

I had a negative ffn test but continued to have regular contractions. 5 days later my peri decided it was time to take them out. Call your doc, it can't hurt.

With crampy contractions I always recommend going to be monitored.

update - called my doctor around 9 and went to triage. they gave me one shot as my heart couldn't take anymore. i was having bad contractions when i came in but my uterus is long and wide and no water broke. we just got home a few minutes ago and i'm still in the same amount of pain. they tell me that my boys are just overly active and that there is really nothing that can be done right now despite having all preterm labor signs except bleeding and fluid leakage. they suggested i go home, take my sleep aids and try and rest but it if doesn't get better to come back.

i see the specialist for a complete ultrasound on monday afternoon.

right now i am just trying to let the effects of the sleep meds take hold and the last bathroom trip before i can hopefully get some sleep.

they said to that since i am so small that i will feel movement that mimics contractions, basically not a lot of fat surrounds my belly and my uterus. and believe me i can feel it!!!
