Well, the kids had their 4 month appointment yesterday, and I got the all-clear from our pediatrician to start them on solids.

So it's time to start thinking about high chairs. Definitely portable, we're in a small apartment.

I was thinking about either the Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster or the Fisher-Price Space-saver.

Any pros/cons? Other things to suggest?

Our kids are on the smallish side, but can hold their heads up very well. They're sitting up with minimal support, just a hand to balance, or a couch back for support.

We have the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster and love love love it. We recently took them on an out of town trip and they fold up nice and compactly, and best of all they are easy to clean, no crevices for food to get stuck into. The one downside I think of any booster type chair is that ther eis not as much support, in the beginning my babies would lean to one side, but now that they have better sitting balance it's a non issue. And the booster seats last, my niece who is 2 still uses ours when she comes over and fits in it nicely!

We have one, and I'm about to buy a second for our trip next week- super easy to clean, fold up small, and they hold up pretty well. Though if I were going to have a small booster seat as a "permanant" seat for regular use, I might buy the nicer, padded kind that FP makes. It also reclines if your LOs aren't quite sitting up well yet.

I have the FP space saver high chair. It's a seat that straps to your chair. I really like it because it has 3 positions. My babies are small too and I like that they are reclined a bit when feeding them. I don't have room for 2 high chairs so I opted for this.

We love the FP Space Saver. Obviously, my girls aren't using them for eating yet, but we've been using them since they were 5 pounds. They recline and we can have the girls with us at the table if they are awake when we are having our meal. I also use them so I can have a place to put a baby while I am preparing bottles, meds, etc. We plan to get the other booster when they are older and will use it for traveling.

We have both... I have the SS ones at my house as their regular chairs... I did not want 2 HC in the way all the time and wanted them at the table for us and they are PERFECT for this age since they recline back a little.

We also have the FPHB ones tha ti just bought... They are for our vacation trip and then they will stay at my moms house so that she has a place to feed them at all times too. I love them and they are small and portable...

For everyday use i would go with the SS ones... Good luck!

I've used the Fisher Price Healthy Care booster seat with all 3 of my girls. I love it and would never use anything else. All my kids were sitting up by the time we started solids. I'm kind of surprised your doctor recommended solids already at 4 months. I thought most recommended waiting until 6 months to help cut down on allergies. I thought this was the national recommendation now unless your baby is really underweight.

Well, at the 4 month appt., we found out they are underweight. :( So, we're just starting with formula mixed with rice cereal. And they are nearly 5 months...

Love the FP seats too. I have them for travelling, etc. Normally I use the Stokke seats, but I am so happy I got the FP seats. Paid $20 each including free shipping and tax on Amazon. Worth every cent.

We started at 4 months as well, by 6 months they were on bread and lots of other pieces of food. They were off baby food pretty quickly. No allergies in my family. They were born big and my oldest was pretty much the same way. I simply have kids who love the eat ... everything.
