Pooping in the potty

The girls have been peeing in the potty really consistently and we have few accidents. Pooping is another story. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't. Abigail has gotten to where she waits until we put her night time pull-up on and then she poops. Is this normal behaviour? Is there something I can do to help them be more comfortable to poop on the potty? BTW, Audrey just poops in her panties. Doesn't bother her whatsoever.

My older DS was getting the hang of pee (if we took him to the bathroom frequently), but would hide and poop in underwear and resist going to the potty when I saw the signs. We finally started bribing him with a "poop prize", he had 1 or 2 more accidents and then has been going without issue - he initiates for both pee and poop.
My friend suggested the prize to me, and we had them hanging on the fridge where he could see them but not touch them so he was really motivated. We only had to give him prizes 4-5 times and we would do the silly poop dance and celebrate and then he was on his way.
    Good luck

I am having the same problem getting them to poop on the potty. I even have surprises for them...that they really, really want...not working. DS is 100% pee trained and pretty much at night, too. Amelia still has an occasional accident. They both would rather poop in their underwear than go on the potty.

I have tried bribing them, getting angry at them, begging them, etc. Nothing works. One time that might go and boy, do we praise them, in hopes they will want to go next time. Then, nope, they go in their panties. I just don't get it. There is no rhyme or reason. They do go hide and if I can catch them, I can get them on the potty, but a lot of times, they're very sneaky about it.

They DO NOT want to poop on the potty around here either!! We go tinkle sometimes and I have the bribes sitting in plain view of DS but he just gets MAD at me :D

Ya, my Jamison refused to poop in the toilet.
I tried everything, even bribes. Obviously they did not want the bribes bad enough. What worked for Peter....my boys are clothes obsessed. Have to pick out their own clothes everyday. I told them that babies do not pick out their own clothes and they poop in their diaper. So, if you would like to pick out your clothes you will have to put your poop in the toilet. Man he was mad and with in 4 days he was pooping in the toilet. He still wears pullups and bed and nap time but for the most part does his business in the toilet. Not Jamison. I am trying to find out what will motivate him.
    What makes your kid tick....

This is going to sound a bit sick, but we started with saying we wanted to see if the poop was a snake or a meatball and you could only see that in the toilet. Danielle thought it was fun and we never had an issue with her refusing to use the potty, but when we started training Rachel, she was a bit hesitant. I think she was scared. So, we started the snakes and meatballs with her since she always asked what Danielle did. It kind of made it into a game. My friend had the same issue as you are having with her daughter and tried the snakes/meatballs and it did help...not totally, but got her on the road to using the potty.

we are in the same boat. Both kids have pooped on the potty before, but they don't do it often :( Sarah holds it until nighttime in her pullup and Jake doesn't care where he does it :(

I'm going to have to try the meatballs and snakes! can't hurt!

I've actually contacted someone at www.pottytraingservices.com I am having a phone consultation w/ them this week. yes, i'm that frustrated. I've lost all patience when it comes to this.
