What do you do when your kids need to poop when you are out? The toilets are too big for Slaton to sit on by himself so I would pretty much have to sit there and hold him up. We use the toilet seat (the kind with the handles) at home and he does great with those. Does someone make a portable toilet ring/seat or something similar?

We've never had a problem pooping in public. But I trained Anthony (and will the twins when the time comes) to go on the big toilet. We have an attachement on the toilet at home to make it easier not to fall in. But out in public, I just squatted in front of him and held his legs until he got good at doing it himself.

I just stoop down and let them and let them hold on to my shoulders. They were really afraid at first but now they are getting use to holding on to the sides all by themselves.

My boys are about 3 months older than yours. BTW...I just hate when they have to poop when we are out.

My boys go on the big potty at home...so an easier transition when out. All public restroom toilets seem to have the front piece of the seat cut out...so it does make it tricky. My boys just seem to strandle their legs and hold on to the side of the seat with both hands.

Being the big time "germaphobe" that I am...it kills me! I,of course, use my handi wipes and wipe down the toilet seat. It's just impossible to work with covering the seat. Then we do some "big time" hand washing!

I do believe that there are portable toilet seat rings out there. Hopefully others can tell you where. Good luck!

We have this portable potty seat that we take with us when out and about.

It's great. It fits over the big seats with the cut outs in the front, and it fold up small enough to fit in the diaper bag. I usually keep mine in a zip lock bag in the diaper bag, and the sanitize it every week or so, and get a new bag for it. :)

Debbi...I'm the EXACT same way! It grosses me out to know that they are grabbing the toilet seat.

Stef...thanks for that link! That's exactly what I was thinking about. The one thing that concerns me is the fact that it only holds up to 40 pounds. I've got big boys here!

Thank you all for your responses! :)

they do make a portable one! I use mine all the time for my girls..and it fits right on the side of the diaper bag. I got it at BRU for like $10. I do recommend putting it in a plastic grocery bag...makes it convenient for hanging on the door hook while you are unfolding it and putting the kid on the potty...otherwise you are tucking a germy bag under your arm while juggling your kid and the potty seat. And then you can just clean the potty seat and replace the bag when you get home!!! A very nice situation for us germaphobic people!!!
