Okay so here is the deal, my oldest DS (30 months) has now started reaching down the back of his pants after he poops and then finger painting all over my walls with it!!!!! So gross!! So i decided that we sould try to start potty training this weekend. It went okay he was very willing to sit on the potty chair and read elmo goes potty he peed in it once! but still has pooped i'd say 4 times this weekend and every time it ends up on my wall what do I do I really don't know if I can handle cleaning up much more poop!!!! :(

Would a onsie type shirt slow him down long enough for you to change him? Gosh - I don't know what it is with all the Poopcasso's lately!!!

The only suggestion I can offer (and I know it's not the best one for these hot summer months and especially for convenience purposes while trying to potty train) is to get a leotard so he can't get his hands down there. One of my clients did this and they decided to try this option. It's worked great for them to avoid the messes. Good luck. Hopefully he masters the potty training quickly for you.

Although I am not sure where to buy them, they make the onesie extenders, that snap to your onesies and make them longer.

Onesies don't work for my guys anymore because they just reach down there and un-snap them!

I feel your pain, my guys were doing this as well, but they quit all on their own, thank goodness!

My mom's friend had a similar problem with her son who would poop during naptime and paint his crib with it when he woke up. He was younger than your kids, but what she ended up doing is putting him in a daiper and a T-shirt, and then actually duct-taped his shirt to his diaper all the way around. Then, she put a pair of shorts on over the diaper.

It wasted a lot of duct tape, but it worked.

    Hope this helps.

Wholly smoke that's funny, ingenuity is the mother of all inventions! I bet that was something to see. I got a little 'poopcasso' myself. I might have to keep that one in mind when she grows outta the onsies.
    Good luck.

I have a pair of "Poopcassos" and I don't know what to tell you since everything I've tried to stop them has been outsmarted. I went through weeks of them immediately stripping naked every time they pooped and running through it all over the carpet (and they can undo everything except buttons). I felt like I couldn't leave them alone for a second. We had company for a week and they quit with all of the increased activity and seem to have forgotton about it for now even though everyone has gone. Maybe you should invite some relatives to come stay with you to break the pattern ;)

We're working on them telling me when they need to poop or have pooped but it's a slow process with a success here and there.
