Pool after c-section?

    My sister is having her c-section in 2 weeks. She was asking if I knew when she could go in the pool afterwards. I have no clue does anyone else know?

    I'm thinking it may be a no-no for 6 weeks afterwards, but she should really ask her doc to be sure.

    Do you think it is the same (6 weeks) for taking a bath? Not a shower - I know that is ok right away. But I guess submerging the stitches is another matter...

    It really depends on the doctor I think. My incision was glued shut and I had the okay to get in the tub. I'm sure I would have been able to get in a pool as long as I took it easy, provided it was summertime instead of winter. But I know hot tubs would be a big NO-NO.

    I would ask the doc..But I had a vertical cut and my doc said I could take a bath as long as I dried the area real good.

    I'm thinking pool might not be good becoz of bacteria getting into the incision. But check with ur doctor.
