Just curious if we are on the same wavelength as most people when it comes to how often we bathe our little ones...

I voted every other day, but that's just in the winter to keep their skin from getting too dried out. In the summer they get a bath everyday, especially b/c they are playing outside so much, wearing sunscreen, etc.

In the winter I am an every other day... wash hair once a week (none of mine really have too much hair!) and soap down the body once a week. My kids have sensitive skin.

In the summer, they are everyday with the soap and hair things twice a week, unless needed for other obvious reasons.

Every other day for me, it really depends on what they have been doing that day, if it was a daycare day for them i will bathe them but if we had a quiet day at home i wouldnt bother.

We bathe them every day as part of our bedtime routine. We still use the J&J Head to Toe Baby Wash on all parts including the hair. It's true that their skin has become a little dry this winter so we've been putting Aveeno baby lotion on them after the bath but before we dry them off. It's easier to use it on them that way. (I say 'we' because DH helps a great deal with baths and bedtime.)

We just started skipping a day here and there with our baths. Like a PP mentioned, it is part of our bedtime routine and it is a fun part of our day, so it's not for cleaning necessarily--we wash our hair every second day or so. I really put a lot of cream on them in the winter to prevent dry skin, but we do bathe almost every day. They love water play and I love being in there with them. It's a fun part of our evening.

We were on daily baths with their helmets but once the helmets were gone, we switched to every other day unless they really need one on an off day. I'm sure we'll go back to daily when the weather changes and they are outside more. They do love their splash time!

Most days. I voted every day, but I only wash their hair every couple days, and don't necessarily use soap, to avoid drying their skin. But they love tubby time, it's just part of the routine, so unless we are out late or they say no, they get in the tub every day.

We are currently at 2x/week, which I think we switched to from 1x/week around 12-14 months or so. Really, in the winter, they don't get very dirty. We do a good neck/face/arms/hands with a washcloth at least 3x/day (after meals) and those are the places that typically get grubby. They do love bathtime but it is a big production, and I am just too tired after working all day to do it that often! We'll probably go up to 3-4x/week once we hit spring/summer and they are playing outside with sunscreen every day.

We do it twice a week (plus occasional extras as needed, but that rarely happens). They get their hands and faces washed after meals. Colorado is very dry (especially in the winter) and both kids seem prone to dry, itchy skin, so our ped's recommendation is to bathe only every few days.

That said, in the summer I bet we will be doing it more often, between the sunscreen (ick) and the extra dirt.

I voted every other day but in reality, it could be more or less. In the summer, it's almost everyday because of the sand, sweat and dirt. In the winter, bath time is more recreational and can sometimes last for hours. [IMG] But also with the cold weather, we only bathe twice a week sometimes.

We do it every other day mainly because Ryan has dry skin so if we bathe him every day he starts to get red, dry patches on his legs.

In the winter at age 3, it's about once a week for us. They get more in the summer since they're outside a lot and they take a shower everytime they swim so their hair won't turn green. In winter, nothing but their hands, face, and clothes really get dirty. Bathing has never been part of our nighttime routine because the girls have always loved baths was too much. [IMG]

This is exactly what we do, too!

I bathe them once a week during the winter, summer is as needed. Olivia has excema & bathing too often is not ideal for someone with this condition as it washes off the natural oils in the skin.

Twice a week in the Winter. They do not get out enough to get dirty. Wash up extremities several times a day though. In Summer prolly every day due to dirt and sunscreen [IMG]

In the Summer every day or every other depending on outside play and the filth level. In the Winter we do it about 3 times a week. If we do it more frequently, their skin turns to snake skin.

1 or 2 times per week in the winter for my 3 year olds. I still don't wash their hair every bath - maybe every 3rd - my boys have very short hair! Of course, my older boys bathe every day (9 yo) or every other (6 yo) All of my boys get a bath every day in the summer.

We do every day as part of our bed time routine, however there are some nights on the weekends when we get home late that we do occasionally skip a night here and there.

usually once a day. sometimes 2x a day. sometimes I bring the girls into the shower with me and i wash them down in the morning. sometimes the same night, I go ahead and give them a bath in the tub esp if they are into playing with/in water. depends on the morning and evenings activities.

They love bath time and we do it every night after dinner. We only wash them every few days and really just rinse them off and let them play. We also use bubble bath a couple of times a week. If we wash them too much they get really dry skin, but we couldn't give up bath time - we all love it too much!
