Poll: Fertility Treatment Vs. Natural Occurance.

My wife and I were talking about the growing incidence of multiple pregnancies and we were wondering if the increase was predominantly due to increasing age of mothers or fertility treatments. We felt that it was mainly due to the improvements in and increase in the application of fertility treatments.

 

Naturally occurring, but at 28 I hardly make a case for advanced maternal age leading to twins.

 

Mine were naturally occuring. I was 26 when they were conceived so I also don't think that age played a part.

 

mine occured naturally and I was 27 when they were concieved so I also don't think age had anything to do with it.

naturally occuring but I was 20 when they were concieved (I'm a clomid baby though )

Natural, and I was 33 (not over 35, but still over 30). I had a m/c before, so maybe my hormones were a little off. It doesn't run in the family either.

I had had fertility treatments for approx 10 years. I m/c, one dd, and a set of twins at our VERY LAST try. I was on the verge of 36 when I got pg with the boys.

 

NAtural b/g at 30 also...I attribute our double fertilization to just getting off my birth control, like within a month. I was still trying to figure out how many days in my natural cycle to start family planning, but didn't have to keep track for long as we got pregnant right away.

 

Fertility treatments at 31.

 

Two sets all natural.

 

Natural at 27 when the twins were conceived.

 

Spontaneous twins here, at age 32.

 

IVF twins, transfer at age 35 and delivery at age 36.

I have a very strong line of fraternal twins on my side of the family, so I somewhat fear a naturally occurring set...sometimes IF seems to be "fixed" after a pregnancy. Not that I wouldn't love to have twins again, but my body did not do the twin pregnancy well.

I'm a double egg dropper, of a long line. I was 33 at twin conception. Mom was 26. Grandmother was 41 or 42 I think.

I was 32 when I concieved. We needed an HSG. I only have one falopian tube and that is filled with scar tissue. The HSG is a high pressure dye that blows the tube cleaned. I tell people I need a power washing to get pregnant! I voted that they were natural twins because the HSG would not cause me to ovulate more than my body was ment to ovulate. Thus - they were natural

 

Mine were natural. I was 19 when I got pregnant with them, so definitely not a cause of advanced maternal age, I am also pregnant again, just call me a fertile mertile!

 

Mine were spontaneous at age 25, so no advanced maternal age here. We are still not sure about ID or Frat though.

 

Spontaneous at 38 years old, so advanced maternal age. I have a friend who also had spontaneous twins (two months before me) and she was 37 when she conceived.

 

Mine were naturally occurring I am a lucky one and it was first try and I was 34 when I got pregnant and 35 when I delivered. They do however run in my family as my sister has two sets of twins both fraternal and she was under 30 when she delivered both.

 

Naturally at age 25.

 

Natrual. I had them @ 22 so definetly not an age thing here either . I becme pregnant after being off the pill for 2 weeks! But
i have to say fraternal twins do run in my family and if you are going by the skipping a generation thing it was susposed to hit me!x
