All the books tell me they don't, but real life has told me otherwise. I'm curious whether we are the norm or not. Feel free to elaborate on your answers!

Mine did occassionaly. Jackie cried every night for the first 4-5 months... he was never happy... BUT he had acid reflux... I wouldn't be happy either. He woke Zack up often, but Zack liked his sleep so much, he didn't let it bother him to bad. DH was very good about taking Jackie in another room when he cried. That helped out.

I voted almost never, but mine are in their own rooms and they each have a noise machine going for that exact reason.

My oldest does not have any kind of noise machine in her room and she has never woken up if one of the twins do.

Yes, almost always which is why we separated them. It has been WONDERFUL. Mine have never been on the SAME EXACT schedule so it just made sense. I wish I would have done it around month 4 though, it would have made learning to sleep through the night SO much easier for us...hindsite is always 20/20! Mine didn't skip a beat and don't seem to be bothered not being together at night or first thing in the mornings. We never had them sleep in the same crib after the first two weeks or so, because it started even then.

I voted almost never. It is amazing to me. They are in the same room too. Maybe the noise maker that is in there has something to do with it.

They did if it was within about 1/2 an hour of time to wake up anyway. I never shielded the babies from noise though so they could sleep through a lot.

mine also will only wake each other up if it is near their time to wake up anyway or if they have just fallen asleep. i like that they're in the same room it's easier for me to check on them and in the morning they spend about half an hour talking to each other before they start asking for their breakfast.

I said somtimes, but no usually. They wake each other up if it's close to wake time. But even then, not always, sometimes one of them just keeps right on sleeping.

Almost always because it seems that every nap they wake each other (never more than 40 minutes!!! [IMG]) and at night if Patrick wakes he wakes up all of us! He is one loud kid! Oh I wish we could do separate rooms....

I replied sometimes! During the night 1 will cry at least once and not wake the other, but when nap time is over for 1 and he cries the other one will wake up. Also, it usually is not the crying that wakes the other one, it's the talking and laughing each one will do to get the other ones attention. In the morning they will talk for about a half hour while I get bottles and their stuff together before they start getting mad.

Sometimes here too...my whole family are deep sleepers. I opened the patio door while the alarm was on once (man is it loud) and the only one who even stirred was DH (&he shot out of bed like an RPG) but all 4 boys slept right through it.

If they just went to sleep or are close to waking they do wake each other.

I chose almost never. Sophie always wakes up first and she can be screaming her head off and Jack is sleeping like a log! It does amaze me that they dont wake each other up. The only person they wake is me! x

I never believed it would happen either! But now Josh always cries some when put down to nap or bedtime. Zach will just lay there and fall asleep during all the noise! But this did not happen until maybe 12 months or so? And we had a LOT of sleepless nights where both cried before they learned to sleep through. But it was SO WORTH IT [IMG]

And DD sleeps through it ALL [IMG]

Not anymore. We separated them at Christmas, and they're both sleeping better. [IMG] Makes naptime easier too.

I have a 'watch dog.' She knows when someone walks in the room, so if I am going in there for her brother, she will wake too, but that doesn't mean that he woke her up. We used to joke that his cries got her to sleep! He was a tough one to get to sleep before his first birthday! So, for the most part, they do not wake the other up.
