How often does your 5yo nap? If only one twin naps, answer for that twin.

My 5yo still takes naps a couple of times per week (probably 2-3 x per week) - I'm wondering if others do too? He's in Kindergarten for 3 hours each morning.

    TIA

My dd is not 5 yet but about 1 time a week she will take a nap if I am lucky! But then she stays up later at night so its a give and take.

I voted other because I really do not know how many times a week they take a nap now. BTW, my guys will be 5 in a month. I hope it is ok if I voted. :D

My 2 rarely took naps before they started pre-K, but now Jude takes one at school but I'm not sure if he does for all 5 days. Evan says he took one, one day. It is hard to figure out completely because when we talk about their day and I ask them, they don't seem to remember for sure. Jude's teacher actually informed me that he was falling asleep during the designated nap time.

My sons all quit naps at age 4, but maybe twice a month, Brady (who's 5) will say he needs to rest and will go crawl in bed in the middle of the day.

DD napped consistently until she was 6. She was in all day K and they had mandatory nap time that according to her she slept. It was only a month before going into 1st that we stopped putting her down and that was just to get her used to being up all day. On her cranky weekends we still send her to bed and she is 7 now.

I voted 3-4 days a week. He needs it or he is a big grouch-o!

    I voted other.

My 1st dd napped every day until her 1st day of Kinder.
1st ds stopped napping at about 4 y/o. It was just too hard with scheduling and having his sister not nap to keep his naps going.

I voted other. For one thing at 5 years old my DD was in all day K, so she couldn't take a nap. But sometimes she will on weekends or if she is not feeling well. She is getting the point where she knows it is okay to take a nap if you are tired.

Mine are not 5 yet, but coming up in it soon enough. They gave up all naps at 2 yrs 7 months and never looked back. I ovted never.
They may fall aslepp in the car on a very long ride (but not usually) or if they are sick. That is it. And it looks like Ainsley is going to be the same way and gave up most naps as of a few weeks ago.

I tried and tried with my oldest boy, because we really wanted him to continue to rest during the day. It was no good, he could not sleep after about 4 years old. The twins turned 4 in August and they are doing the same thing. We just make them be still for an hour in their beds, but they do not sleep. :(
