    Hi,

My babies are almost 4.5 months old and I am wondering if I should be putting them in different rooms at night. They do occasionally wake each other up at night.

I think it was around 5-6 months that I put them in separate cribs. About the time when one of them started rolling around a lot. They're still in the same room, but they do pretty good about not waking the other. You could just try separate rooms for a few nights & see how it goes.

Ours were in the same crib until 6 weeks old. At 6 weeks, we put them in their own crib, same room. They started sleeping through the night at 10 weeks and I believe separate cribs had a lot to do with this.

    Same crib
I am thinking about seperating them to different cribs, but same room.

We separated around 10 weeks if I can remember correctly. DS was just too fidgety and we were worried that DD would get smothered when he would steamroller over her. [IMG]

They shared a crib until 8 weeks old, after that seperate cribs same room. If I had an extra room to give I would give them their own rooms too.

We moved our girls to their own room when they turned 5 months. They don't sleep well apart so they are still in the same crib. I have another just incase, but we don't use it yet.

We're moving our guys at 6 months into their own room. We haven't separated them yet. They are just now moving up to a full sized crib from their bassinet this weekend. (Mostly because it's taken hubby this long to get kicked in the rump to get it done!)

Well, as there is no option for "other":

We have them in our bed - so I could say they share one crib, but actually we don´t sleep in a crip [IMG]

I had their sisters in our bed, too, and it makes nursing so much easier when I don´t have to get up in the nights, and I love to have them sleeping on my breast and tummy.

We just moved the boys into separate cribs a few weeks ago. They were rolling all over each other and were getting too long to be able to sleep sideways in the crib. So far it is working out well as they are still able to see each other, but have an entire crib to themselves to roll around in.

We moved them from a co-sleeper in our room to separate cribs in their shared room at 3mo. We realized that Owen was ready when Ben was in the hospital for 2 nights and Owen slept thru (7-7!). I think they'd been waking each other.

Now Owen continues to sleep through the night. When Ben wakes at 2am, we bring him into our room to nurse, and then keep him in the co-sleeper till morning so he doesn't wake Owen when he gets up again (ugh) at 5am. I'm hoping we can start putting him back in his room after the 2am feed, but we just *really* don't want to mess up Owen sleeping schedule, which is a godsend!

Ours slept together in the co-sleeper until they were about 5 months old, then together in one crib for about another month until they started rolling around too much and waking each other up. Now they're in separate cribs in the same room.

We seperated our about a month ago(at four months old). they are in seperate rooms for now, DS still has a cold and sometimes will have coughing fits at night so i'm keeping him in my room at night for now. When he is all better he will join his sister in the nursery but in seperate cribs. It has made night time so much better since we seperated them [IMG]

Our girls were together at first, then separated because of sleeping issues with one (i.e. she would only sleep ON me). But, now they are back in the same pack-n-play in our room. On the first night we put them back together I got the feeling that they missed each other and were comforted by each other's company, as they scooted (somehow) over to lay right next to each other. So, they are 3.5 months (1 month adjusted) now and I think we will keep them in the pack-n-play for a few more weeks (it's getting a little small for two!) and then we will move them to the same crib in the nursery for a bit. When they start to roll they will be in different cribs, same room!

Ours slept in our room in a PNP until Paul started sleeping a really long stretch at night at 2.5 months. Jack stayed with us another 2 weeks. So at 3 months, they were sleeping in their own room in separate cribs.

I changed my girls to separate cribs at around 6/7 months, they just refused to sleep apart until then.

My kiddos were together in the same room til 7 months. Then we separated them for sleep training. At 8 months they were put back together. FOr the most part they don't wake each other up. They sleep in separate rooms for naps (DS in PNP)

We always kept ours in the same room and they learned to sleep through one another's cries. The only time they would wake each other up was if it was within about 1/2 an hour of feeding time. That worked okay for me because I liked to feed them at the same time anyway. [IMG]

Mine are in separate cribs, same room and their 4 year old brother also sleeps in that room. It is mighty cozy in there! [IMG]

Our girls slept in the same crib until about two or three months of age; however, we kept them in the same room together. They are now four years old and are still sleeping in the same room together. Our girls have always kept each other company and have been very good sleepers. They are actually better sleepers than my other two singleton children who sleep in their own separate rooms. However, as everything goes, you have to do what you think is best for your little guys. Best of luck!

If you have the room to put them into two separate rooms, then I would do it now. We switched the kids to their own rooms at 18 mos. We had an extra room, we just never took the time to clean it out and make use of it! When we did, the kids sleep habits improved dramatically!!! The funny thing is, I never even knew that they were disrupting each other's sleep, since they were generally good nappers/night sleepers. But Ben likes to wake early, and Hannah likes to sleep in. And Ben likes to take long naps, while Hannah takes shorter naps. In the end, they get the same amount of sleep. But when they were sharing rooms, they were both getting up early (thanks to Ben) and both taking short naps (thanks to Hannah). I did not know this though until they were in their own rooms. Now they get the sleep they need and everyone is MUCH happier. I wish we would have done the room change sooner!!!!!
