Has anyone used these? I bought them at BRU the other day and just wondered if anyone else has tried them and liked them. I haven't used them yet but think I will today.

    Thanks

I have one that I bought from another twin mommy on here. I tried it with Haley and either she wasn't hungry enough or she got tired. She finally got the formula sucked up the tube but she didn't eat too much of the bottle. I have heard good things if you try them early enough. Maybe my girls were too old by the time I tried it.

Good Luck! It would sure be handy if my girls would take to them.

I have them & love them, but it was probably around 3 months until my girls could actually benefit from them.

    HTH!

I have a couple. I don't use them alot (especially since now they can hold their own, it's not a big deal) but I liked them okay. They were great for day trips to the mall or zoo. That way you didn't have to stop and feed them. Your's might be too little to get a good suck going...mine didn't do well with them until they were about 4 months old.

I know others have tried earlier...so you never know. Good luck [IMG][IMG]

I started using them at 3 weeks on my reguluar Dr. Brown's bottles. It's great. My boy is not using them anymore b/c he has rice cereal added to his bottle. My girl still uses them. A small thing to consider ... the silicone nipples would slip out of her mouth a hundred times while she has no problem with the latex ones ...

They are a pain to clean but they are great for car rides when you aren't able to stop and feed them.

If you pinch the nipple it will make the milk go to the nipple so your baby doesn't have to suck a bunch of air before getting to the actual milk.

I used them a ton, mostly so my DS would not be crazy when I tried to feed them, and to get out of the house. But I did not start until I was done BF'ing around 6 months. They loved them, when we were out, I would get as many stares with the bottles as I would about the twins, most people have not seen them.

1 month may be a little early depending on how well they suck. You could try priming the nipple a bit 1st by squeezing it and pulling the milk up the tube a bit to get it all started.

We started using them at 3 1/2 months. I LOVE these. They save my butt every morning. I use them while I am getting my odler ones ready for school. We also use them if we go shopping, etc. Mine did have a hard time getting used to them but once they did it was wonderful! Make sure to follow the directions for putting them together. I did them wrong and the milk would not stay in the straws. Good Luck!

This may be a silly question - but what do you do about burping? My guys would spit up their entire bottle if they weren't burped a couple of times.

We have a couple of them and they are great for when we are out and about but at home they are just alot of work I have to say cause my girls just want to be held when they eat at home so they just dont work for us at home but when we are out shopping or in the stroller they are great we did not start them till about 3 months though.
    Good luck with them....

I tried them once and my DD who is a better sucker was getting mostly air. I did hear later that you need to "prime" the nipple before they start sucking sometimes. Anyway, I know another twin mommy who swears they made her life SO much easier. We only got the chance to try them that one time because a couple days later my girls visited the GI specialist who wanted us to add cereal to the bottles. We never really got the chance to give the bottles a fair chance.

Hi! I used the podee bottles the first month that they were home from the NICU, when either DH or I was home alone with the babies and both babies were hungry at the same time. We had only Baby A using it because he was the better sucker and could keep it in his mouth. We also had milk maid bottle holders (http://www.greatbabyproducts.com/Baby_Bottle_Holder_p/prod-mm220.htm) at the time, but they had a hard time keeping the nipple of the bottle in their mouth. By the time they hit their due date, they had a strong enough suck to keep the nipple of the bottle in their mouth and start using the milk maid bottle holder, which is simpler and so much easier to use than the podee bottles. I'm not sure if we'll be using the podee bottles again in the future for these babies. Maybe when we're out and about more we'll find more use for the bottles, but only time can tell.

I still burp once or twice, but at least while my girl is drinking, I don't have to worry about her. I've only used them at home or when I am close, so not on the go.
