I went to my first mothers of multiples meeting last night… they had a speaker who wrote a book about raising healthy twins (the author is an identical twin and raised fraternal boys)… it was… interesting..

Anyways, back to the reason for this post… a mom there gave me a podee feeding kit (as all the moms were really nice)… it was given to her and she never gave her twins a bottle… and they are a year now… has anyone used this… it looks interesting

I tried it when my twins were about 6 weeks. One had trouble sucking it up all the way through the tube, plus she didn't sit up so well in a bouncy seat. But my son did it no problem. It was a nice way to feed them together, him on his own while I held my daughter. The only reason I stopped using it was it was getting to be a pain to clean and I found it easier to just feed both babies simultaneously on their boppies.

I did use it once and then threw it away. I know someone people use it with greaet sucess but for me it was more work then anything. The nipple would always fall out of their mouth and sometimes no formula would come through. I just found it was easier to hold them both and feed with a regular bottle.

    Good Luck with yours!

I used them for a little while when they were smaller, they worked great for a while, every once in a while I would have reinsert when the nipple fell out but other then that I got more sleep! (they are a pain to clean) Now that they are older I have tried using when we go on walks in their stroller and they gag on the nipple and spit it out so I guess we are done.
Good luck, I hope it makes life easier on you!

I bought one when they were little to try it to see how I liked it before I bought another. Ended up not using it at first because they had cereal added to the milk so in the closet it sat. Well one had been holding her bottle since 6 months the other she liked it held for her. At 9 months no more cereal and I came across it in the closet and tried it immediate hit. Wish I would have remembered it earlier. Of course the other one wants it half the time and I should buy another but I don't want her to get lazy and stop holding the bottle. Now with another on the way soon I'll use this alot earlier I'm pretty sure.

They were hit or miss for the boys. Some days they could do it and others they couldnt. They are a great concept but I had to keep reinserting the nipple all the time so I might as well have just sat there. I did use them a bit at Disney when they were just in the strollers facing me and I could be right with them.

My babies would usually drop the nipple. It didn't really work for us. Let us know how it goes!

It didn't work for us either. DD is difficult to feed and has been from the get-go. DS has always been easy, but even he won't hold onto the nipple.

Part of it for us, I think is that ours don't like to eat more than 2 oz at a time (or so it seems), so they just spit out the nipple. It's easier for me to get them to eat more if I bottle feed them directly.

One other thing I forgot to mention is they work with the Dr. Brown's nipples and you are supposed to squeeze the nipple to get the milk flowing through the straw a little before giving it to them.

My DD loved that thing for a couple of months. From months 5-7, until I got tired of washing them and taught her to hold her bottle. I had 4 of them. Very handy while I was trying to feed her brother (breast). Now she just feeds herself. We just put her regular nipples (evenflo) in the podee and they worked fine.

I bought some for a road trip I thought I was taking (ended up not going), but I was excited about the bottles. Well, my girls also spit out the nipples & would get frustrated when trying to suck the formula into the straw. It definitely helps to squeeze the nipple first so that there is some formula there for your baby to get right away. Anyways, I hope it works for you!! I'm sure they're great for babies who are patient & for a mom who is willing to re-insert the nipple.

We love the Podees. They were awesome. With twins, you often have to wait until they are a couple months old before they have the sucking strength to use the Podee. Singletons can often use it fine at birth. Also, some babies need you to hold the nipple in their mouth for a couple of days until they get the hang of it. It's not harder than holding a bottle in their mouth. Definitely bring the milk up the tubes for them by squeezing the nipple a few times before you give them the bottle. They'll eventually learn to suck it all the way up from the bottom by themselves but there's no reason to make them do it at this age.

With us, we used the Podees as our only bottle after 3 months old. I just pulled apart the pieces and dropped them in a pot of water in my sink when we were done and then it was easy to clean them at night. I loved being able to hold both babies during every feeding, being able to feed them in their stroller or on the road, and the fact that I didn't get sore arms anymore from holding up those two bottles.

We love the Podees. They are the only bottles we use now. Started at 6 weeks old. I used to put one baby in a bouncy seat with the bottle and hold the other baby in my lap. Half way through I'd burp and then switch babies. Worked much better than holding both bottles. I have a bad upper back and holding both bottles killed me, I'd be in such pain. Plus one baby would not like it when I'd have to stop feeding her in order to burp or do something with the other baby. Now they both sit in a bouncy, and I sit between them. They do periodically spit out the nipple but I sit there and fold laundry or read a book and just pop it back in when that happens. No biggie. We have six Podees and when they are all dirty I put them in some water in the sink and wash it all together. Doesn't take too long anymore.

Good luck. I hope they work for you. Pinch the nipple to get the milk up the tube and make sure the parts are screwed together snuggly.
