I finally got the podee bottles and can't get them to work. Help!
Can babies as young as 6 weeks use them? They seem to always have air in the tubes, how do I get rid of it? And they seem so slow! It takes them 1/2 hour to get one ounce. Is this normal?

Same thing happened to me. I'd like to hear what others have to say. I tried to use one the other day and neither of my twins could get much out of it.

My girls weren't really able to use them until they were around 4 months old. They just could not suck hard enough and long enough to bring the milk all the way up and then keep a consistent flow. Some people say they worked for them at younger ages but this was our experience with them. Allison

I think you are too young. mine didn't get a good suck on until 4-5 months. once they get a good strong suck though, they will scarf the bottle! they have bigger nipples. i was so shocked when after what seemed like 2 seconds the bottle was gone! But unfortunately, I think you are going to have to wait a bit longer.

Hannah and Jackson weren't able to use the Podees when we first got them. It took them awhile to get the hang of it but now they eat like champs with it.

I started them a little past 3 weeks and they've been working for us. Although it does take them longer to eat a 4oz bottle (around 30 minutes compared to 15 minutes). My dd seems a little better especially when she's hungry, but I do notice they tend to fall asleep more easily because it requires more sucking / energy, but yes, they can definitely use them. The first few sucks are hard, because it takes a little longer for them to actually taste the milk ... my son gets upset because he thinks I am teasing him with a paci! I usually feed my dd with the Podee and my son with a bottle, and when my ds is done, I'll see how dd is doing and sometimes, I change the rest to a regular bottle. But in the end, it's still quicker and they remain on a similar schedule which is nice.

our guys started them at 2 months and have doing great with them..we don't use them all the time. my one son is great at getting the liquid up into the nipple so I had him start my other son's so he didn't get frustrated but now he does it on his own.

My son eats like a pro with the podee. He drinks it too fast! My daughter still does not use it however. She does not suck well enough. They are almost 3 months old.

We bought two. Opened one up. My twins at 6 months still can't get milk up. I wish I could return the other one. And I wish I could invent the mother of all things to keep the bottles in the kids mouths. [IMG]
