I am wondering if anyone on here has used the podee bottles, and if they actually work or not.

They were recommended to me by another twin mom but I just want to hear a bit more about them. I am in Canada and they don't sell them here, so before I pay a small fortune in shipping
I want to make sure they are worth it!

    Thanks

Eh. I bought them, but never ended up using them. I'm going to assume it's because they didn't work for me. I found it was just as easy to prop a blanket, pillow, etc up under the bottle to help with feeding(say when I was out and about with them in the stroller).

I don't use them. Prop blanket all the time. It works great.but if you do elevate your baby on a pillow and don't leave them alone

I have a friend that has used them for every one of her kids and swears by them. I've never used them, but she loves them.

I tried it and it didn't work for us. There is a long straw tube attached to the bottle. They have to suck consistently for a while before they start to get any formula. Mine couldn't do it, and would get frustrated. If you do try it, only buy one in case you don't like it. I found bottle propping (with supervision) much better.

I also purchased one set and never used them. I thought they would be just what I needed to handle feedings alone. But, I felt like using them was just too involved, there were too many pieces and cleaning seemed like it would take the time and effort that I didn't have the energy for at the time. Plus, I was feeding every 3 hours or so and didn't want to spend that much money on enough bottle sets to handle the all those feedings or have the clean the one set I had over and over again.

I rambled a bit, but I hope that makes sense...

I bought one from a twin mom who said they were the greatest thing. My girls never liked them. They just spit it out (too much sucking to get the milk, I think). So, when I was in a pinch, I was also a bottle proper using a rolled up receiving blanket. Plus, they are a lot of parts to clean.

THanks for the replies ladies! I think I'll hold off buying them based on what everyone has said! I have been using blankets to prop and since that seems to work just fine I'll just stick with it. I have to admit I am glad I am not the only bottle propper around

Oh you are not the one. I would say many single and multi-moms do that. At 6 months check up, our pedi asked 'so do you still prop bottles in their cribs?' She even answered herself 'I think so and its ok because you have twins. I understand.' Lol

We love ours and could not get by without them. We could prop, but propped bottles constanly tip/fall when they are in carseats or strollers.

It took awhile for our girls to get use to them. At first they did not have a strong enough suck to get the milk to the nipple. Once they "got it", it made life a lot easier.

We've found that you can put the system onto Evenflo plastic bottles and they work great, better than the bottle it comes with, I think. (those tend to leak)

Soooo many people stop us to ask about the bottles! When we go out, I fix each baby a Podee bottle and set it next to them in their carseat. As soon as they could grab things and put it to their mouth they were able to get the nipples in their mouth themselves.

See if there are any baby resale shops in your area, you may find one there. I found two at a consignment sale (we have 4 of them total).
