My girls just turned 13 mo. and are cruising and just started standing alone for a few seconds. We will be outside alot this summer because I have a toddler as well. #1 I do not want them crawling all around on the cement and grass in their good clothes. So please tell me they will be walking by June atleast, it will be so much easier for them to play if they are walking!

I hope so! I'm in the same boat, well with one... Hannah has some motor skill delays and is not even crawling (mild case of CP) but Hailey is doing the exact as yours. I'm hoping she will be walking soon too! And that hopefully Hannah will be crawling.

I'm in the same boat... DS walks a couple steps at a time, but DD needs some physical therapy because she stays on her toes... so definitely no guarantee.

I hope so! I know what you mean, though. Mine weren't walking last summer, and we didn't play outside much -- it was just too hard.

In fact, I was so hoping that Kevan would be walking by Halloween so we could trick-or-treat -- but no such luck! He finally started walking in January.

I anticipate being outside every day this summer, though!

I hope they do start walking for you. I know our that two summers ago after they turned one and weren't walking was so hard on them (and us) because they wanted to be outside but it just wasn't happening when all they'd do is crawl. Luckily they did catch half of the summer walking.

I'm sending many "walk babies!!" vibes your way.

I hope yours start walking soon! As well as my baby H. Baby B has been walking for months, and is good at it, H has no interest. I took them outside last weekend, and it would be so much better/fun/easier if they were both walking.

I'm right there with you! I have one who is cruising, walking while pushing a toy, etc. and one who really barely cruises yet. They are 14.5 months (13.5 adjusted) and I am so hoping they will be walking by May/June. We do still go outside, I just put heavier pants on them (like jeans) and let them crawl all over the place. They love it - and it feels rather freeing to just be able to go outside and let them play! I also brought a few push toys outside so that Finley can walk around the yard and driveway pushing a toy.

I hope all of our babies/toddlers are walking by the time the warm weather gets here!! :)

I'm hoping mine will be walking too! You are several steps ahead of us though - we don't have crawlers OR cruisers yet! I'm looking soo forward to the summer - I just hope they can enjoy it too!

I hear ya! I'm in the same boat.... 13 months, Austin is trying so hard and has taken a few steps last week and nothing since....Gavin could care less...as long as he can get around by crawling he has no desire to walk!! So frusterating...Everyone keeps asking are they walking yet?!?!? And When i tell them no, they say well my baby was walking at 10 months......glad for you!!! Mine aren't!

I am right there w/ you! I am hoping by June or July that they will be walking. I will be taking mine outside regardless. They need the fresh air and a differnt view then just the living room.

They might be walking, but don't expect them to not still be falling and getting dirty  I'm sure you will have a fun summer regardless :)

Isn't it ironic, I don't want them to grow up so fast, but could we please both get to walking already? A is running. He has been walking for months, and has graduated to running everywhere. B is still just cruising, and despite being at it forever, doesn't really seem any closer to actual walking than he was months ago. I hate seeing him get left behind. I know I will regret this eagerness when they are both running in opposite directions for the street this summer, but for now, I really wish B would just get this walking thing over with. I see how much he misses out on - like running around at the zoo, and the park and I just can't help feel so sad for him. I know he is just doing things in his own time, but it is so hard not to compare, and not to worry.

My boys started walking at 17months...in September...just after summer - grrrr. They crawled everywhere, all over the grass, all over the park, in the wading pool. Clothes and knees are washable. They had a great time. And I could still keep up with them. Now they run in different directions and it will be LESS easy to take them to the park myself this summer, not more...

    Ya never know.

My boys were walking around 15 months so I hope that brings you to at least July! :)

*Hope you have a fenced yard(we don't but live in the country on 3 acres) and mine are in two different directions! I can't hardly do it by myself so, some days we just play on the front porch.*

Good Luck & Have a Great Summer!

As a been there done that Mom, don't wish the precious non-walking time away! I have 3 kids, a singleton and the twins. Once they began to walk, even a little bit, the days of going anywhere besides our fenced in yard alone were gone. I had to hire a helper to go to the parks and play places. I know it's difficult to wait for walking, but it really does put a new spin on twins you just don't expect. At least now they can't crawl faster than you can run! I say invest in some second hand play clothes and don't worry about the dirt and grass stains on the knees. Enjoy every stage, they are all fun and interesting!!

    Thanks for the reminder, Kelly.

I think it is easy to imagine this sweet picture of me outside playing with my 3 boys, chasing balls, looking at caterpillars, watching planes go by - when in reality, I'll be chasing one down as he's running towards the street, while holding the other who is throwing a fit, all while my older DS is saying "Mama, want to play basketball? Mama? Do you want to play? Do you?" clueless that I'm about to lose my mind with my 2 newly walking toddlers. ;)

I have been enjoying watching them crawl all over the yard and driveway. I'll just keep enjoying that for now! :)

It's true, don't wish the crawling days away. They will walk, hang in there. My DD when she started walking, just took off. My DS, he kept taking just couple of steps at 12-13 months and then all the sudden at 14 months, he got a burst of confidence and there he is walking. I kind of miss crawlers now! But don't worry, they will walk! Hang in there ladies!!!

I've been saying the same thing lately!!! My twins were born 6 weeks early and were walking right at 13.5 months. Olivia was full-term and is 12.5 months, but no signs of walking yet. It stinks. I do daycare during the day and I have my twins and then another 4 year old and a 2.5 year old. That's all they want to do is go outside when it's nice. We still have to wear pants and jackets out and I can't let Livi crawl in the wet damp grass or all her clothes will be ruined...and our patio is cement, which isn't good on the knees. I've been taking a blanket out for her to sit on. She tries to crawl to the grass, but then stops...of if I sit her in the grass, she won't move...lol...but then she's bored after 15 minutes. It's tough, I'm SO ready for her to walk. She's barely cruising...she prefers to crawl.

I seriously thought my daughter was never going to walk. Both my boys were walking by a year, but she had no interest in it. She took her first steps at 13 months and just this week (at 15 months) she decided she was done crawling and has totally switched to walking. I'm sure your's will be walking by June. The feel of the grass on their legs might be enough to get them on two feet if they are still crawling by then:)
