I dont know whether to laugh or cry. As I posted before I had another US today because of some spotting last Friday. At the US the doctor found another baby! Yes, THREE BABIES!!!! No fertility drugs. How does this HAPPEN?!?!?!?! My DH is out of town so I dont know whether to tell him now or wait. I was going to tell the kids tonight but now I dont know aboutt that either. My chances of something going wrong are so much higher now. I am 9.5w. All 3 babies are measuing 8.5w with HB of 150+. One baby is in its own sac and the other 2 are in a sac together. There are 2 yolk sacs. Thedoctors only worry is that the 2 babies seem really close together. There is definately defintion between them but its almost like they are holding hands or something. But is that somehting to worry about? Wouldnt they be sitting close together if they are in the same sac? I will post pics in a bit so you can all see what Im talking about but can some mommas of triplets chime in here to reassure me? I AM SO FREAKING OUT HERE! And no dh to help, not till Thursday anyways.

Well that certainly is exciting and unexpected news. I can't be of much help on the triplet front, but you just need to take a deep breath and relax. What's there is there and God will take care of you and the babies in the best way possible. Hope you get some good advice out there--I'm sure you are worried.

OH MY GOODNESS! I don't have any advice, I'm a first time mom to be with twins, but CONGRATULATIONS ON TRIPLETS!! THAT IS SUCH A MIRACLE!! That is such exciting news!! My dh is out of town too and I am going through my pregnancy alone for now. You'll get through it!! I know if it was me I would not be able to wait until he got home to tell dh, I could barely wait to tell him it was twins, and I met him for lunch right after I found out, I still almost told him over the phone. You'll get through it and it will be so special to have 3 little babies!! How exciting!!

How long is you dh out of town. I'd say if he's going to be gone for a few more days... tell him. It sounds like you need support and reassurance from him.
    Congrats on triplets.... xoxoxo

WOW, what a surprise that was! I think I too would tell DH...I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret! We had a supervisor where I work whose wife got pregnant with spontaneous triplets and they are now almost a year old and doing great! You can do it....hang in there and visit us often!

CONGRATS!!! Wow, triplets!!! I couldnt imagine...I would wait to tell DH, doing something like that over the phone and out of town will really throw him off. Besides, dont you want to see the look on his face when you tell him

  9. Wowzers... you really are blessed. Congrats. A mother of quints said on some show tonight that she would rather have her hands full, than empty. that fits you to a "T". Enjoy!

WOW triplets...amazing! How are you doing with the news...it would be rather shocking!!

Since DH will only be away for a couple of more days maybe you can wait...i Know when I told DH over the phone about twins i think he went into shock...i ended up driving to his work just to make sure he was ok...he was in shock and it was rather entertaining, but i think i would have prefered to see his face in person!

I would wait to tell the kids until you have had time to talk with DH and let things sink in.

Good luck with everything and make sure you get lots of rest. Let us know how things go :)

I jsut need to know that it is ok that 2 are in one sac and one in the other. Isnt that rare? My doc was worried that they seemed so close together? I will post a pic when I can. Im so overwhelmed right now I cant even think straight.

Oh my goodness! I remember thinking how surreal seeing two babies on the ultrasound screen was, I can't imaging what it is like to see 3! Congratulations! I guess that now you have some answers about showing at 9 weeks and feling them move at 9 weeks! :D Things are all making sense now!

I am sure that this is a huge shock, and obviouly it is exciting, but freaking out is a totally natural way to feel... I think most of us have felt that way finding out there were two! I am sure that 3 babies are given only to VERY special people! Remeber, this is such amazing blessing. Check out companies that offer multiple birth discounts and find out when you can qualify for these (before or after thier births). I am sure that this will work out for you! Take a deep breath and congratulations!

holy moly! that's awesome! personally if he's going to be home really soon i'd just wait to tell him in person. I didn't get the chance to tell my husband in person that we were having twins since we got pregnant with the twins on R&R from Iraq and my husband had literally just gotten back into Iraq when I found out we were pregnant and having twins. I really wish I could've told him in person.

WOW, congrats!! what a surprise and a blessing for sure!
The 2 babies sharing a sac is considered high risk for sure and your doc will go through that with you. They would share a placenta as well and that is something that the docs will keep an eye on to be sure that ttts does not start to happen.

Remember that the medical field will tell you the risks involved, they have too. But not ALL multiple pregnancies experience horrible complications and that is important to remember as well.
I look forward to seeing the pics!

Wow congratulations! That is amazing! So you must have started with fraternal twins and one of the babies split into ID twins! I watch too much discovery Health, I know! LOL it's just fascinating!

So you are probably feeling very scared and nervous. It doesn't help that no one knows yet. I would rather tell DH in person, but it know how hard it can be to wait a few more days until he comes home. You should definately talk to him before anyone else, whether in person or over the phone. It just depends on how long you can hold out! :)

I know a few gals who are pregnant with trips or have trip infants. If you wanted to PM me I'll let you know what website they post on, if you wanted to talk to a trips mommy.

I would find out if your doctor has had experience with multiples before, especially trips. Or see if there is a peri he can recommend so that you can receive the best care for you and your babies.

    Good luck and god bless!!!!

I wouldn't worry about his reaction. My husband was there when we found out on the u/s, he looked as though he'd seen a ghost... for days he had that look. Mostly he is worried that you will be ok.

    When is your next u/s?

Congrats...there is a hom board I believe its call MOST.com or something like that (moms of super twins). I got pg with triplets on my own but lost them, so I know the shock you feel! It is a true blessing!! Make sure you are taking good prenatals and eat lots of protein!!!
Good luck on telling the kids!!

Wow!! Congratulations! As far as the identical set you have (the ones in the same sac) -- as the PP mentioned, they will be higher risk because of the possiblity of TTTS. However, I think your doc. might be worried that they are monoamniotic as well as monochorinic. you wouldn't be able to see the dividing amniotic membrane yet -- (best time is around 12 weeks) -- but since you have 2 yolk sacs -- the chances of that are INCREDABLY slim -- some say impossible -=- so don't stress about that. ( we had a scare with that early in my pg. ==but they found the membrane at 12 weeks) I"m sure you and your DH are totally overwhelmed.....I know i would be...but you'll get used to the idea soon enough.

Congrats again on your tripple blessings!!!!!!

Congrats! People keep telling me that god doesn't give you more than you can handle.

Also, about the question, I asked my doctors about triplets, because I didn't think they happened naturally. My doctor told me that there was two eggs that were fertilized and one split to make identical twins.

Try to relax and stay calm!

There are 2 yolk sacs but I was assuming that the other yolk sac was for the other baby in its OWN sac?

Wow! Congratulations on the triplets! I was personally shocked to find out I was carrying two so I can't imagine your shock in finding out there were 3 little ones in there! I think its good that you told your DH ahead of time. This type of news takes some time to sink in and maybe its good he is on his own during this period.

    Hi,

I was reading through your post. Could the doctor be concerned because they are so close together because he thinks they might be conjoined in some way? That is the first thought that came to my mind. I agree with the PP that a separating membrane will be hard to see until about 12 weeks or so. Congrats!

I just posted to your pictures - I have a set of mono-mono twins. They shared the same sac with no dividing membrate. But you are too early to tell if there is a membrane or not. Congrats on the triplets. My twins are now 14 months and doing great. They were 2 months early but are perfect. If would like to know more about mono-mono twins, feel free to email me.
