My DH and I both decided that when the babies come, I am going to be a SAHM for several reasons...first of all, it would cost more to put them in daycare than I make, secondly I have an hour commute on top of a 12 hour day- So I would have to find someone that could watch them for at least 14 hours, and most importantly I just want to be with them.

Anyways...with me staying home it is going to put a significant dent in our income. My DH is a single role Paramedic for the City of San Diego, and lets just say they don't pay paramedics what they deserve, or even close to it for that matter. Keith (my DH) has no interest in becoming a firefighter. He LOVES working on the Ambulance, and he is really good at it. I would never take that away from him.

Well, last week one of our friends approached him and told him about several positions opening up on the military base Camp Pendlton as a civilian Paramedic. This position would pay significantly more money, almost double what he is making now!! And it is 45 min closer to our house! Our friend that told him about the position is helping him through the process, but we really just have to hurry up and wait. These things take time.

Please keep your fingers crossed for us!! This would be incredible for our family! I am trying really hard to keep a level head and not get excited, because I don't want to get my hopes up. I just hope that it is in God's plan for us!!

This definitely sounds like a great opportunity for you and your family. I will pray for you and your family, you really deserve to be able to stay home with your children. I think you should stay thinking positive. God does things for a reason and that may be the exact reason this opportunity came up for your husband. Good Luck and keep us posted.
