    Hi everyone!

I've been lurking for months, I'm now a member and I need your help! I am 37 weeks pregnant with a boy and a girl. For the boy we are going with Kyle (not sure on a middle name yet) and for the girl, Addison/Addisyn Rae. Addison is considered a unisex name so I was considering the other spelling because I thought it might look more feminine. My family says everyone will just spell it Addison anyways. I like both spellings and am not sure what to go with! What do you all think?

I think both are nice and just pick which ever one you want. Yes, I'm sure you will get plenty of wrong spellings (if you go with Addisyn), but don't let it get to you and do it anyway if you want.

I agree with your family and also really dislike the made up spellings of names, adding y's etc. I personally like "correct" spellings. It's one less thing she'll have to correct her whole life.

I would go with Addison. FWIW, I've never known a boy to be named Addison. :pardon:

I like Addison because it is more classic. I tend to like standard names without y's in place of other letters. It's also not just a spelling issue - I think the two names are pronounced differently - AddiSON v. AddiSIN.

I like ADDY for short. Maybe go for the Y spelling.

I think you should go with Addison. I think its a great name and have never known a boy named that either.

I would go with the more traditional spelling. But you should chose what you really like.
I really like Addison Rae. Very pretty name!

I agree with this. I don't like all the "cutesy" spellings of names that people come up with. I would go with Addison and make it that much easier for her.

Addison was taken over by the girls a good while ago. I don't think many boys in her age group will be named Addison. I also would go with the more traditional spelling - Addison. I think everyone will spell it that way anyway and she will spend a lifetime correcting them - take that from a Sheryl :)

BTW - I think you can go with the nickname Addy with either spelling.

My middle name is Alyson, so we went with Addysen for S's middle name (well, the y was for me, the e was a concession b/c I wanted Skye for T's middle name and DH wanted Sky (no e)...anyway, just a thought.
