Its been a week now and I havent' left the house. The girls were at the doctors two days in a row for a "virus". It started with high fevers, then turned into stuffy, runny noses, coughing, vomiting, bad diarreah, and the doctor says they have sore throats too from the looks of things. They've been on amoxicillin for three days now and the fevers have gone down but they still are so hoarse and I CAN'T get them to eat. They have both litterally only drank 3 ounces since 9 pm last night. They have bad diarreah too. I've tried juice, pedialyte, formula, water. I've tried it cold, warm. I've tried sippy cups and bottles. Nothing. They just won't drink. Their diapers are "damp". This has been ongoing since thursday and I just don't know what to do. The doctors don't seem too concerned but I am. Any advice?

How about a Pedialyte popcicle in a mesh feeder?

Or syringing it? They probably don't want to suck because their throats are sore. [IMG]

Also...you might want to ask your pedi...about watermelon. Good and cold...lots of water and some minerals!!

Someone suggested watermelon to me with Greg a couple of years ago...wish I would have thought of that on my own!! Seems to help!!

The popcicle thing is a good idea. It just seems like after they have finally gotten something in their tummies they vomit huge amounts.

Try smaller amounts, more often...hope they feel better soon! [IMG]

If they are vomiting and have diarrhea, I would watch them closely for dehydration. Are they making tears? Check the inside of their mouth, is it wet or does it feel gummy/sticky? Are they acting 'normal' other than the list of problems.

After they vomit, try just offering like a tablespoon of pedialyte. Mine take the unflavored fine. I would hold off on formula, or mix it 50:50 with pedialyte.
