My SIL wants to get my boys the PLAYSKOOL HELMET HEROES Race Car Driver, but my BIL does not think that it is a good idea (my boys are really into NASCAR so she thought that they would like it). I have read a few reviews, and for the most part people seem to like it, but I did not find too many reviews and a lot of the reviews mentions 3 year olds. My boys will be 5 in Jan, so I am not sure if it is too young for them. Does anyone's kid have this toy or know anything about it, good or bad? Any advice/comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

My boys got them from their uncle. Since they are only 2.5, the helmets are a bit too old for them.

You have to hold the steering wheel directly in front of the helmet or they won't work, they run through pre-recorded adventures but really only have 5 or 6 things to say and they are LOUD.

On the positive side, the baby likes to watch the lights on the helmets, when the microphones work they are pretty cool and you're right...three is just the right age. I think 5 might be too old. Ours are put away until my patience is a little longer or the boys are a little less easy to frustrate :)

We have one and my ds loves it...it is a bit loud but I love that it makes him run around the house. It is not a sedentary toy.

    Thanks for the feedback.

inspiredmommy - when referring to your DS, our you referring to your 7 year old?
