When do they start really playing with each other as to chase each other, seek and hide etc.?

Mine started to really do that around 18-20 months...they would interact before but actually chasing each other was around that time.

Yep, my guys have just started this within the last couple of months. Mostly they just "parallel play" but sometimes they chase each other around the house, giggling. My favorite is when one hides in a huge appliance box and the other opens the flaps and says "Ta-da!".

My two have played chase with each other for quite a while. I feel terrible now for not writing down actual dates but I'd venture to say from almost 1 year they've been doing it. Not consistently, and not all the time, but if we leave them to their own devices there will eventually be a game of chase around the chairs. Or we have this collapsible tunnel from IKEA and they'll giggle at each other from either end. When I take them to the soft play area at the gym they mostly do their own thing, but there are some afternoons when they will run after each other and collapse on top of one another and really have a laugh. Don't think they are quite up to hide and seek, but if that's down the road that will be fun to see.

 Valerie your children are adorable! we'll have to arrange to introduce my girls to your boys someday! ;)

my girls have recently started wrestling a little bit with each other. they also do a lot of parallel play & toy swapping. they sometimes chase each other through their crawl tunnel giggling like mad - i love that! there's nothing better than two toddlers giggling. :good:

Mine play peek-a-boo with each other around their laugh and learn house. Or with a blanket. Zoe always does the hiding and pops out and Jude cracks up. The roles are rarely reversed. They have also started "honking" each others noses. When Jude has a toy Zoe wants, Zoe used to steal it, then Jude got tougher. Now Zoe sits right beside her and gets right up to her face to "say things" to her, looking right at her babbling as she nicely steals the toy. Sometimes she will even kiss as she steals. Sly one. I would say this interactive play happens a couple times a day...otherwise they are milling around playing close in proximity but separately.
