Playing/Stimulating your babies

I've noticed that for the past few weeks my babies are becoming more alert and awake during the day. They are 7-8 weeks old. At this age, how do/did you play with your babies and for how long?

Mine were still asleep most of the time, at that age, we really didn't "wake-up" until about 3.5 months. When they were awake, I always tried to hold them, talk, and sing to them. I think that they were beginning to really love the mobile then, we had one from Tiny Love, it was awesome!

 

Smart start

this is from our board of ed. maybe this will help a little. my girls though just loved listening and watching more than anything.

 

We would constantly talk to ours, give a little (very little) tummy time, sing to them.

 

At that age I did a lot of singing to them and talked to them a lot. I also put them under the gym mats (we had two so that we could alternate them around). They also spent a lot of time in their swings and I always had the t.v. on (partly to keep ME entertained and for background noise). Sometimes I would put it on the Disney channel since so many of their am shows are so colorful and have lots and lots of music.

 

Lots of talking, cuddles, holding, singing and some tummy time. I have a stim-mobile too (mobile with black/white designs)

 

Mine also loved being talked to. I would read to them, shake rattles and get right almost nose to nose and talk. They LOVED seeing my face up close. I would also play pattycake and head, shoulders, knees and toes and now those are two things that they love!

 

We did a lot of talking and singing, cuddling, too. After we discovered the boys enjoyed watching the ceiling fan, we bought them mylar balloons - they loved them and still do!
