I'm thinking that it would be nice to get involved with some kind of playgroup with other moms, but I'm trying to figure out the logistics of it ... my babies aren't old enough to "play" with other babies, plus we all know it can be a pain to get the two of them out of the house, and I don't know where to look to find a fun group where I won't get stared at for having two babies. I went to this Mornings with Mom thing at the hospital for awhile but stopped, it was nice but the timing just wasn't right and Thursdays aren't really a good day.

If you are in a playgroup, how old were your babies when you started going? And how did you find the playgroup?

    hi,

my kids were 2 mos old when I started playgroup -- we met at the Mother of Twins org meetings and started getting together in the Fall. It's great cause it's all twin moms. I'd look for a local MOT group Nat'l MOT Org

here's the WI local clubs... WI MOT

great place for support and buying used stuff.

I joined a moms club (chapter of MOMS International). You could also try MOPS. It is hard when your babies are younger but many times the playgroups are just for you to get out an interact. AND there may be other moms with infants there too. Good luck.

Me too, I joined the local Moms of Multiples, and they have 1-2 non-walkers playgroups a month, and then it's just a great place to meet folks and arrange your own outings. Highly recommend it! I'm also going to start taking them to the library for story time. I called and they said it was totally fine, even encouraged me to come so I could meet other moms! It's for kids 6 and under, so I guess they qualify :)

ditto to what momalicious said....we are in the same playgroup :) HI THERE! we have had tons of fun and now that the summer is here all sorts of outings are being planned. it is also great to be able to talk to other moms going through the same thing as you and being able to bounce questions off of them. great support!

don't let it be a "pain" or you will get stuck in the house and lose your mind. it is good for the babies to get out and see other babies and people and just take it all in!! i've been doing things since they were about 2 months old...just going to the mall, or for a walk or just going out to get a coffee! it breaks up the day in a huge way. yes, it is hard logistically sometimes, but i make it work.

    good luck!

I actually found my playgroup through the new moms support group at the hospital. When the babies all graduated, we kept meeting. Now I have a wonderful group of moms to get together with. I would stick with your group and see if you can start up a yahoo group with them to keep in touch outside of hospital meetings. Eventually your babies will outgrow the hospital group and it's nice to have the moms you started out with when the babies were so young.

At this point, the playgroups really are for you since the babies can't really interact with other babies right now. But when they start crawling, it's nice for them to get out there and see other babies sometimes, although I admit that these days I prefer to get together with only one or two other moms at a time, because it reduces the risk of sickness to my girls, plus it's hard to keep track of two babies in these big groups.
