The twins I used to nanny had 3 superyards strung together in their playroom. It was very sturdy! They would both push on it and I never saw it cave in or fall over. Needless to say we added one to our registry when we learned we were having twins too!

We have this one from One Step Ahead and LOVE it! We actually have one at home and bought another one for the sitter's house. Its big (we got more extra extension panels) and very sturdy. My girls cruise on it all the time. Plus it has a gate which was essential for me because I'm 5'1" and was not comfortable climbing over a gate with a baby in my arms.

We just got the Super Yard EXT a couple weeks ago and LOVE it! We put our foam puzzle pieces down on the floor, and also sometimes a mattress topper. It's actually aided the babies in learning how to pull themselves up to stand, and they love to hold on and dance and rock it, and nothing's fallen over yet! Babies R Us has a coupon for 10% off all gates I think til April.

We bought the Superyard XT for our living room. It's great as a play yard, but with just one extension, it wasn't enough room for them with all their toys.

Also, you HAVE to use these ones the way they are meant to be used ... as a playyard, and each gate has to be at an angle to the next gate. You can't create a long barrier with it. So if you want it to get bigger, keep in mind that every gate must be at an angle to the gate next to it.

Since we are barracading off part of our room for the kids, we went with this gate.

It's more expensive (ouch) and we need to get two of them. But you can put them into any shape you want, they are taller than normal, have a gate, and you can lock each panel, so you can stretch the gate straight across a room to create a barrier (which is what we need).

    Hope this helps!

Baby trend makes one that is really colorful and has activities built in. I think I've just bought one from Craigslist, but I have to make quite a drive to pick it up. You see them all the time on Craigslist.

We have the Superyard XT from when my son was little so we'll just continue to use that (with an extension that our friend gave us from thier baby to make enough room for the twins) but if we were starting from scratch, we'd buy one with the gate. It would be so much nicer. I can't tell you how many times I've felt like I was going to fall when I went in and out of it to play with my son.
