Play time

Hi,

I was looking for some ideas for toys that my 10 1/2 week old boys might like to look at. Right now they just have their play mats.

I had one playmat that they shared and lots of things hanging off of it. Their favorite was the mirror. At TJ Maxx they had some great board books with large animal pictures. They may like that too. Other than that, there wasn't much I had since it was mostly eat/sleep at that time.

 

At that age their favorite things were their play gyms, bouncy seats with toy bars, and swings with dangling toys.

Ditto. Even just putting the bouncy seat in front of the window so they could look out at the birds and squirrels was entertaining for them.

 

If they don't like tummy time that much, but have reasonable head control, you can play the roll over game. I lay two blankets end to end, and put one baby on the right hand side of each planket. Then I count 1-2-3, and roll the first one onto his tummy, then the second one. Then I count 1-2-3 agoin, and roll them back onto their backs. I keep going back and forth, sometimes I stretch out the tummy time portion to like 30 sec or 1 min.

With 10 week old, they might get tired after just 1-2 back and forths, but as they get older you can extend it.

My two also really like tummy time on a yoga ball, and I think I started that right around 10-11 weeks.

 

ditto playmats, bouncy with attachments. I also would bring them outside in thier bouncies to "watch" me garden, etc.

 

Ours loved the bouncy seat and just hanging out in the boppy staring up at the fan or toy bar on the playmat.

 

We had playmats and swings that had dangly things. We would also lay a variety of small toys on a blanket during tummy time.

 

I would ditto what the other posters have said, plus ours loved those wrist rattles, they were fascinated with them.
