Play Dates

Okay Moms and Dads, we are now 3 1/2, in pre-school, and asking for playdates. What do you do? Invite one child's friend and send the other out with mom or dad for a special day or let both your children stay? Would it be easier to have each child have a friend or is that just mayhem waiting to happen? Do you invite the parents to stay? Help! Any advice would be great!!

 

Are they in the same class? Mine are in the same class, so they are friends with most of the same kids. Fortunately I am friends with most of their moms too, so I invite the moms & kids to come over! Most of our playdates are on non-school day weekdays, so there isn't anyone to take the other child anyway! I would just invite a friend and let them all play together

I agree with Melissa!

 

At that age I would definitely have the parents stay! I have a hard enough time looking after my two - I couldn't also watch a third (or fourth!) Also, play dates are the only time I get to socialize with other adults - generally the kids play at least semi-independently and I get to chat with the mom or dad.

Mine definitely don't have his and hers friends - they know all the same kids, and the ones we play with are the ones whose parents I am friendly with.
