We have been using the high chair tray but I think that they are wanting to eat off of a plate. I looked around for those that suction to the tray (even googled them) but, I could not find any for some odd reason. What are you using and if you are using the sticking ones, where did you find them?

    Thanks!

I got plastic plates with 3 sections in it from walmart (sorry I tried looking on their website to link it for you, but they don't have them on their website).

I don't remember where I got them but they are plastic, no dividers.

We tried the suction cups with DS1 and they sucked. We have some from Pottery Barn the my MIL bought but mainly we use these from Ikea. We also have the bowls, cups, and silverware. They are really cheap and clean well.

I heard that the suction cup plates were fairly useless, so never bought them. We just got plastic plates from Target. I know that One Step Ahead carries the suction cup kind if you want to try.

Until about 18 months, we mostly used small tupperware bowls. They're indestructible, easy to clean, cheap, and the girls seemed to find it easier to eat out of a bowl rather than off a plate.

Around 18 months, our neighbor lady (who is a potter) gave us some handmade plates with the girls' names on them. I was terrified to actually use them, but surprisingly, they haven't broken them yet! Neither of them are big dish-throwers, though.

We also have some of those divided plastic plates that my SIL gave us, which we use when the "nice plates" are dirty or if we need to take them somewhere.

I went to the Corelle outlet and bought some small 3 sectioned plates and small bowls. Yes, they are glass, but they are break resistant and we have not had any problem. We have a few plastic plates, but I worry about all the crap in the plastcis so I only use them if the others are dirty. I'm going to get some of the Corelle dinner plate size sectioned plates soon.

I think suction cup plates/bowls are useless, I've tried several and none of them work. I just use basic plastic plates and bowls, you can get them pretty much anywhere. I like the ones from Ikea.

We use the First Years Take n Toss plates. They are cheap and easy to travel with as well. I have bought mine from Target; however, I am certain other places sell them too.

We use plastic sectional plates and also have some of the corningware plates (I think that's what they are, they are supposed to be break resistant but we have broken some, the bigger ones). We tried the suction plates with my girls and they didn't work.

I have tried the suction plates...it seems like they are just an invitation to make more of a mess. My girls would try every time we gave them to them, to unstick them. And every time they succeeded...so we stopped using them.

We have the ikea plates and have been using them for about a year and a half...they are fine in the top rack of the dishwasher.

We got a bunch of plastic ones with three sections from the dollar spot at Target. We tried a suction bowl with DD1, but didn't attempt it with the twins after it didn't work well for her.

I think they see the suction bowls as a challenge! Every time we tried to use the suction ones, they would pull with all their might until they bonked their noses with the bowl and were covered with food. We stuck with the trays for a while and slowly switched over to plastic plates we found at Target on clearance for like 84 cents.

At Walmart they have the plastic reusable plates I bought those. They are like 4 for a buck. I have a bunch of them. They are good and steady and dishwasher safe.

Yeah, the suction plates are a waste. We have a couple of the Nuby (I think) divided plates, and then we also use little novelty plates like from the dollar section at Target.

All the suction stuff doesn't stick to the trays. Might work on the TABLE but probably not on the tray. I tried a few. Just got over it!

We use a bunch of different character stuff. Since they can't have character CLOTHES (other than PJ's) we let them have it on their plates :D

Don't waist your money on the suction bowls. They don't work. We even had a glass table and they didn't work on that either. I have gotten a couple of the character type plate/bowl/fork/spoon sets. They are pretty good but one of them did hit the floor and break. I like that the plates have sections though which is nice for doing nuggets and ketchup or putting the veggies or fruit seperate. For the most part however, we do small paper plates that I buy in bulk from Sam's club. So much easier to clean up. I use them as cutting boards and then serve it right to them.

We use those mircowave plastic plates since some of the food can be 'hot'. If you have watch Jon & Kate Gosslins show they use paper plates too. That is how I realized how much easier it is.....<wink>

I have to second the Ikea plates, bowls, and cups too. They are wonderful and are microwave safe. I have thrown all my others away. I love these plates and so do my children!!

Suction plates/bowls....SUCK! What a waste. I bought two sets from One Step Ahead and they were not good. What a joke. :(

I also think I have purchased as many plates and bowls as I did sippys trying to find the best one. I'm still not there. *sigh*

Just keep at it. It drives DH nuts, but you just have to keep putting the plates/bowls in front of them. 1 minute will turn into 2 will turn into 3, etc. and before you know it - presto! - you make it through a meal without them flinging it off the table!

We've used the Ikea, Target, character sectioned Mickey and just about everything else posted here including paper. They all work just fine. When they get yucky, I toss them and don't have any guilt.

We had the suction bowls with older DD - never worked.

I found some divided tray type plates at Walmart for less that a buck each. They look like a smaller version of the cafeteria tray we had as kids in school. They fit perfectly in their high chair trays, and maybe since they take up the whole tray they don't realize it is not part of the tray since they don't tend to throw them on the floor like they do the other plates we have tried :unknw: I also reuse the single serving fruit cup/applesauce cups. They are the perfect serving size and they can hold them in their hands so they can eat a little easier with a fork or spoon.
