    Typing one handed please excuse

Was changing Caleb and the ring snagged and came off 3/4. It is still hangng on. Tugged a little but it's stuck. Some bleeding, he seems uncomfortable. shouldI do anything? Or will the rest fall off soon?

If I remember correctly my doctor said that once it fell off it was ok. It probably wouldn't hurt to call your doc's nurse for a quick answer though since it was snagged. I think it may cause his skin to grow back together, so just make sure he's well lubed with Vaseline on his little boy part.

I agree with the pp to use Vaseline, but it will just fall off. I'm sure it will be within the next day or so at the latest.

ok thanks! He's asleep now, the partial falling off freaked me out. Of course I google and find all these horrible complications. I'll call the doctor in the morning if it looks odd.

My son's plastibel ring fell off partially too. I just left it alone, and a few days later, the rest came off. He's 5 months old now, and it looks great.

Vaseline of A&D ointments works well!

How long has it been on? Ours came off partially fairly early on, but were hagning on by a tiny bit for a few days before they fell off. Dr. said adamantly not to pull on it. Give your Dr. a call. Depending on how long it's been they may have specific instructions for you.

FWIW... at all of our appointments up to 4mo they looked fabulous even though they fell off relatively early.

At 4mo, one was partially rehealing because no one told us that we had to keep checking them and pulling the skin down at least once a day... At 6mo we got an A+ again. We gently pull the skin down around the circ once a day and have been told to keep it up until for a while (think potty trained...)

One of our guys had problems with his ring too- partially hanging off, and we just didn't think it looked right (kinda crusty around it)- we went to the docs and they put silver nitrate around the ring area, which dried up the area and it is totally fine now.
