Hi everyone. I'm mostly a lurker but I had an ultrasound cervix check yesterday, and now I'm a little freaked out. My cervix itself is fine at 3.9 but I have Placenta Previa with one of my babies. I don't remember if he said partial or complete.

The doctor told me not to worry, that they see this with about 1 in 4 pregnancies and with twins, there is less room in there anyway. He also said that it should move by 28 weeks and that only about 1 in 250 pregnancies still have this at delivery.

Then my friend, who is a nurse, told me that if I still have it at 28 weeks, I'll probably be put into the hospital for monitoring... Thanks a lot friend! That doesn't help me to not worry.

Does anyone else have or have had this? So far, I've had no problems at all, except for the usual aches and pains and horrible, horrible morning sickness. But now it's 3:30 in the morning and I can't sleep!

I had partial previa around the same time as you. Mine was diagnosed around 15 weeks and had moved by I guess about 21 weeks. My OB said the same that it was very common in twin pregnancies and that it would most likely move away from the cervix as the uterus grew as much as it does!

I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point...nothing you can do either way. If it doesn't move of course they'll monitor you closely (not sure if that will definitely mean bedrest or hospital time) but it would definitely mean a c-section delivery.

I hope that it moves for you!

Hopefully it will move for you! My placenta was just touching my cervix at my 19 week ultrasound, but had started moving up by my 22 week ultrasound. Most of the time it does move up!

    Hey there!

I had a previa from the get-go. My OB thought it would move, but it didn't. It went from a partial previa to a complete previa then back to a partial previa.
We planned all along that I would deliver via c-section - which was nice because there weren't any surprises or disappointments :)
I carried my girls until their scheduled c/s date at 37.5 weeks.
I did go on modified bedrest (at home) around 33 weeks & stayed on till my delivery.
The biggest worry was keeping me from going into labor before the c-section which we managed to do :good:
Don't stress to much on it right now, most likely it will move & you will be just fine  and if it doesn't move you will be just fine as well

Thanks, everybody. It just freaked me out a bit and I thought I was automatically doomed!
