    Hello,
This is my first time on this website and I'm hoping to get some feed back from others that may be experiencing the same or similar scenario as me.
I'm 19 weeks pregnant with twins. First time pregnant after fighting endemetriosis for several years. [IMG]
I started to bleed right about 12 weeks - of-course I freaked out and I freaked out even more when I was told I had a "threatened miscarriage". Words every woman hates to hear. [IMG]
At 15 weeks, I started spotting and was told I had another "threatened miscarriage". I looked for a new doctor and was fortunate to find a doctor that was able to tell me what was really wrong.....placenta previa - one of the babies had pushed his/her placenta to the bottom and that it was putting to much pressure on my cervix. I was immediately put on bedrest. A month later -and I'm still on bed rest and will be for an indefinite time per his instructions. I see the doctor every 2 weeks. So every 2 weeks I get to hear the babies heart-beats and see them on the ultra sound........and I feel a huge sense of relief. The doctor is does an ultra sound at every visit. Is that too much? It's not harmful right?
I'm trying not to stress and stay calm. But I can't help worrying - specially since I'm only half way through my pregnancy. Has anyone else gone or is going through something similar?

The ultrasound is very safe. I had an early previa with my 3rd child. There was just one there thus plenty of room for the placenta to move up enough to not be an immediate danger to me within a few weeks. Hopefully there is enough room in your uterus that the placenta will move. Until then, follow your doctors orders. Staying in bed can only be described as mind-numbing, but it is worth it for healthy babies and mommas.

Good luck! I'm so glad you've got a great doctor who is taking proper care of you. I know it's a serious condition, but a lot of people have come through placenta previa with healthy babies. Just take care of yourself! Keep up updated on how everything is going.

I had placenta previa with my first pregnancy. Ironically, it was my highest-risk pregnancy. I spent a total of 10 weeks on complete bedrest (including a week's hospital stay) and several heavy bleeds. My first ultrasound (around 18-20) indicated that the placenta was laying very low but my doctor didn't take it seriously until I had a heavy bleed. Based on what my doctor said and most of the literature I read at the time suggested that the placenta COULD move up as my uterus grew and stretched. In my case, my placenta never did move away from the cervix and my daughter was delivered my c-section at 37 weeks. Placenta previa is something to be taken very seriously but is something that often corrects itself. Bed rest is certainly no fun but definately worth a healthy outcome! Good luck!

Thank you to all of you for listening to me, for your words of advice and good wishes. Much appreciated.
I'll definitely keep you guys posted.
By the end of the month, I hope to find out the sexes of the baby. My husband keeps crossing his fingers for at least one boy. But we shall see. [IMG]

Placenta Previa is very serious, please make sure you stay down as much as possible. I am not sure if your doctor has said anything, but definitely NO SEX or Sexual activity. I had placenta previa with my first pregnancy and my doctors did not take it very seriously at first. So be your own advocate and try to stay laying down until it resolves itself, most of them do. Oh Welcome to TS! [IMG]

Hi, I'm also on bedrest for placenta previa. I first bled at 7 weeks, spotted at 12 weeks, and bled red at 25 weeks. My OB hospitalized me for a week and I have been on bedrest ever since. I'm now at 32 weeks today and they are looking great. I'm on weekly NST/BBT appts so I get to hear and see them every week.

At first I worried everytime I went potty and checked the toilet paper, terrified I would see red. But so far so good. I just take it one day at a time, watch a lot of DVD's and chat on the computer.

Things will get better and the tension will ease up day by day. Take care of yourself! I hope you feel less stressed soon.
