Is it best to order a "toddler" pillow for the boys "big" beds? They are twin beds. I don't even know if they'll use a pillow but I don't want to mess up their back or necks or something.

We used toddler pillows from 13 months until we switched the boys to their toddler beds 3 weeks ago at 2 years old. Then I changed them to full sized pillows.

I'm a Chiropractor so support is important to me, but at this age, they don't stay still in one position long enough for it to matter one way or the other! My boys spend about 75% of the time on their pillows and the rest just on the mattress.

I would suggest getting a cheap, flat, hypoallergenic polyester pillow. Walmart has some very inexpensive ones. Feather pillows might cause allergies. You could even flatten the pillows a bit first with something heavy if you feel they are too fluffy.

Arwen uses a pillow, Lorien does not. Arwen is a much more stationary sleeper than Lorien. Also, when Arwen sleeps on the pillow, generally she's on the pillow from about the middle of her back up so I don't think it's affecting her neck or back in any bad way. She got used to sleeping with a pillow because she was so sick so many times that she would sleep with me in my bed and we HAD to keep her elevated so she could breath better. We never used a toddler pillow. But you have to do what you are comfortable with.

We started off with a travel size pillow and now for the last year or so she has been using a regular size flat pillow.

Mine are 25 months and have never used pillows. They seem to sleep fine and not have back/neck problems. They are both all over the crib at night, so I can't imagine what they'd do with a pillow....

We've been using toddler pillows. We'll probably switch to full size pillows when we move them to big beds in a few months.

We just gave the boys their first pillows at Xmas. I picked up some small (10 x 16) decorator pillows at Jo-Ann's and made my own pillowcases from some cute flannel they had.

The boys love the novelty of the pillows, but they are not yet being employed for enhancing their comfort. We showed them how we sleep with pillows in our bed and the blankets on top to keep us cozy and warm. I usually find them sleeping on top of the balled up blanket and on the opposite side of the crib from the pillow. I was hoping that they would eventually get used to it, but after reading some of these posts......

We just used a flat regular size pillow. I was definitely tempted to buy a toddler pillow but it would have been a waste of money for us. :)

We got our girls pillows for Christmas (the travel size with a cute monogrammed case - you can find them on eBay) and they loved them all day. They carried them around and would say night-night and lay down on them. When I put them in the crib, they both stood up and threw them out! Oh well. My oldest is 4 and she still sleeps on hers on top of the 2 regular pillows.

My son always used standard pillow on his twin size bed. He does have a smaller pillow too that someone gave him as a gift. He likes them both.

Mine just recently started wanting pillows. The toddler ones were ridiculously expensive for something they're going to use for a short time. I just gave them our oldest, flattest pillows to use, and now I'm going to buy some nice new ones for DH and I.

I need to get a pillow for DS. He takes his blanket, balls it up and sleeps on it like it's a pillow. I'll need to find something that has a similar fabric so it feels cozy on his skin.

Chloe and Cole have had pillows from about 14 months. I just bought 16 x 16 decorator pillows and made cases for them from satin back flannel. They love them and for the most part use them. I have thought about upgrading to regular pillows sometime soon.

My kids started using a pillow once they started sleeping in their twin beds. I just bought the least expensive pillow from Target ($2.99 I think) because it was the flatest. They love their pillows.

We currently use toddler pillows, but once we switch to beds I am going to get them regular ones.

We've been using these from Angel Dear. I found a lamb one on clearance around town for Jonah and just bought the giraffe one for Morgan for Christmas. The boys will start off with their head on them, then they usually end up as cuddlers more than pillows.

I'm not sure what toddler pillows are, but my boys use travel pillows. They were puffy at first, but very quickly got nice and flat. They scoot off of them most nights, pretty quickly too, but they like having them. We don't send them with pillows to daycare or anything, though.
