I didn't get pictures at the hospital, I was there for 5 days and noone every mentioned them to me. If you would like them make sure to ask if you don't receive any info.

Our hospital did take pictures and offer different packages to choose from. They also gave us a pin number and put the girls on the web so our family members could see them and leave comments. I didn't take the girls to get professional pics until 3 months because of flu and RSV season. Didn't want to take the chance that they might pick up something, especially with preemies.

we were offered the pictures and i ordered them but i didn't like them because they didn't wait for me to put what i wanted on my daughter. i sent the pictures back because they were all blurry and i got my money back. i have a friend that do pictures on her own and i am going to get her to do mine this time for the twins.

if you want the hospital pictures make sure you ask before you have the babies!!! then make sure that they schedule a time to have the babies ready in the out fits that you want. you can get their pictures done in whatever outfits you want. and if at all possible ask to be there when they take the pictures! i was not given this opportunity to be there, because i wasn't notified as to when they were taking the pictures and they put a picture of my baby on the hospital website without my knowledge, they didn't even ask me. so ask many questions and get all the answers before you agree. oh and have your photography info filled out before your set time. so you can just hand the order to the photographer. my 2nd sons got lost by some nurse that didn't know her head from a hole in the ground. and i had to wait for 4 months for my pictures.

    i hope that this helps!
    lots of love!

As a photographer, I love pictures...especially the ones of my own kids...So I did take alot of snap shots in the hospital, this time around I will probably do the same thing, and once the twins are 2weeks old I will take some of them together, in my home studio. Alot of photographers prefer to do newborns within the first month of their arrival, and most will come into your home and do them...this gives time for the babies to be feed or changed at the parents convenience.

I personally like to take my baby pictures every 3 months through out the first year, and then every half year after that, usually birthday and christmas.

The hospital has a photographer, but I would NEVER buy from them because they never look good (IMO) and are way too much money.

    Hope this helps...

our hospitals automatically takes pictures and then we have the option of ordering them. they also put them on their website so friends and family can see them. from my personal experience the picture was awful, all the babies wear the little hospital T shirt, and i don't know what angle they were taken from, but I did not even recognize my son and the quality was worse then the digital camera pictures that were taken of him every 5 sec by one of my family members. I say have someone in your family take pictures and then find one you like and blow it up.

I've never seen a good pic taken from the photographers at the hospital I delivered at, so I declined when the gal showed up in the room to take their pics. There was info in the packet they gave me about requesting the photographer but the packets are expensive and even the pics they use as examples in the brochure aren't very nice.

With my oldest dd we had her pic taken in the hospital. I brought a cute little dress and headband for her to wear and laid her on a blanket my grandma made. It turned out cute! My twins were born in a different state for emergency reasons and because they were premature and we were returning back to our home state their really wasn't time for us to have the pics done. I agree with the others about most hospital pics not turning out very good though. If you can afford it I would hire a photographer to come into your home and take the pics.

[IMG]Thanks once again for the excellent advice. I think we will just go with taking the pics ourselves, then when i get the twins in the room i will experiment with picture taking on them hehehe. Again BIG thanks!!!

Ditto that. I plan on having someone come to our house to do a photo session with our family after the twins are born.
