I don't post nearly as much as I'd like here, in large part because I've developed severe tendonitis in my right thumb. It started when the boys were born and has just gotten worse as the boys have gotten bigger. So I've been trying to limit my computer time - or at least my typing time as I play a lot of one-handed games for my sanity. :) I'm starting physical therapy this week to try to get this thumb better.

The boys will be starting their own physical therapy next week. Sam has a bit of a stiff neck, but Alex has much more of an issue. He has a hard time turning his head from right to left while laying down. In fact, Alex is going to get a CAT scan next week as well, to make sure that nothing else is up. His head size is off the chart ... Hopefully, just some exercises, stretches, etc will help the stiff necks.

Any one else with either of these ailments?

HERE is some GREAT reading on Quervains Tendonitis.
I had it too and it was miserable!!!! Its often called "new moms tendonitis" and I swear moms with twins get it twice as bad because they are picking up 2x the babies!
I ended up getting the corisone injection in the wrist. I was breastfeeding so I couldnt quite take the amount of Motrin they recommend so I also used Ice and a wrist brace to remind myself (as if the pain wanst enough) to limit my activity for a bit. I was prescribed physical therapy but the cortisone injection worked so well I never ended up going!!! Ive been great!

    I hope yours gets better!!!!

both of my guys are in PT for torticollis. they both can turn their heads way over to the left but not nearly as far to the right. they also tend to tilt more to the right. apparently it's something that develops in utero and it means the neck muscles on one side are longer and stronger than the other side. just takes stretching and exercise to get the other side to stretch out.

we started a few months ago but we've kept going every couple of weeks or so because as they develop new skills (sitting up, crawling) they can depend on those stronger muscles and you'll see the issue re-manifest. which is exactly what happened with our guys. started sitting up and bam the tilt was back!

good luck with your PT, we've been really happy with our provider and it's been nice to have someone checking their progress on milestones and giving us good insight into how babies develop.

I'm glad that yours healed! My doctor says that cortisone shots are a second choice since they have risks. So I'm suffering through the PT now and trying to rest the wrist ... Yeah, right! ;)

I had tendonitis too after my first child. I didn't have to have shots or PT but my doctor sent me in to a place to be fitted for a brace. I had to wear it all the time and it did eventually get better. To this day, I always make sure my wrist is straight when I go to bed. I feel for you - hang in there!

torticullis is indeed the Dx. Alex did stay in one spot in my belly for forever, curled up and happy to stay. :) I bought a Bumbo chair yesterday and tried it this morning. DH was skeptical but they did better in it than he thought. They were a little bemused by it, though. :)

Both of my girls have extremely large heads. Actually a couple months ago, Kaylyn's was growing way off her own curve and off the charts so they did an MRI to rule out hydrocephalus and everything came back normal. Do either you or your DH have a large head?

I have no experience with the other ailments, but I hope the therapy works!! GL!

So does mine. His was in the 98th percentile for an adult male! Have them measure both of your heads, that could very well be the culprit!

I'm pretty sure that his head is the culprit, DH has never been able to wear a hat before I found a super-big one :D
