My girls are both experiencing some phlem issues [on and off]. Any tips on helping them out with it? Or should I just let them sound like folassa raptars (sp)?

    Hi,

Try having them sleep on a crib wedge. Its like a piece of crib matress that goes under the fitted sheet in the crib and lets them sleep on a slight incline. I found it made a huge difference during the day and it let them sleep better. It keeps the phlem from settling in their throats. Hope it helps.

I agree w/ the wedge and also what worked for us was having the cool mist humidifier on all the time :)
I got really good with the nasal aspirator too! they were super snotty for the first couple months - yuck!

PediaCare Vapor plugins, they even helped clear up my nose! These are seriously the best thing I ever found!
As well as sleeping at an angle, put a beach towel under the crib mattress to give it a slight incline and the coolmist humidifier.

Good luck! I think my girls cleared up after a month or so.

I have a warm mist humidifier from ds1 that we add menthol stuff (Vicks or Kaz brand) to and I find that helps a cough a lot. The crib wedge should make a huge difference too. Dh and I spent many a night holding ds1 semi-upright in a recliner while he slept.

Good luck. I hope you get relief soon. Coughs can be scary.

Thanks for all the good ideas :)

So far, the girls are sleeping in the living room in their cradles [cause I can't take them up and down the stairs cause of the numbness still in my leg/knee <_< ]. Maybe I'll try hooking up the humidifier tonight to see if it makes any difference. I've been using a pillow under their little sleep positioner things at night, but it seems they just end up shimy-ing down off them, lol.
