So I just took a pg test and it was postive, I'm not sure How I feel....I just had a mc this past August and we decided not to try again but neither one of us had taken the next step to make it permanent(only trying to becareful) I was super excited about being pg last time but not so much this time, I'm sure I will get excided once I know all is well but I was 8 weeks when I mc before and from my last period date I am now only around 5 weeks..... Last time I shared the good news with hubby a few good friends, my mom, and twinstuff....This time around I think I'm going to only tell my mom (hubby already knows) and post here, it was really hard telling everyone I mc last time. So thats my story for now, only time will tell :gah:

I understand your fear. I mc'd in June and even though we are trying, I worry I will get pg and then lose the baby again. Wishing you nothing but the best and a H&H 9 months.

I felt so confident with the pregnancy I miscarried. Then weirdly confident with the boys, despite complications. This time I was strangely nervous and I don't think we told nonessential people (TS doesn't count!) until really close to 12 weeks.

I will keep u all updated, since I dont really wanna tell anyone yet. My dr was closed today so I'm going to call and hope to get in this week at these see if she will do some blood work. I know they wont usually see you until around 8-10 weeks but because of my recent mc maybe she will have me in...IDK

I understand the apprehension. I got into my family practice doc to start the bloodwork, I had to make sure to ask for the "quantitative" HCG test... he was only going to do the one that just validates pregnancy... not how much of a level it was. I think the best thing to verify is that the HCG almost doubles in 48 hrs, and a family doc can do this. Or you could call and ask your OB's office if they would see you this early... I would hope so with your recent m/c.

Mostly I think their reasoning for not seeing you earlier than 8wks is that most m/c that are going to happen that can't be helped will happen by then... but maybe you could also ask to have a progesterone test too, to make sure that your body is making enough progesterone to support the pregnancy. that is something that you can supplement for the first couple of months.

Congrats, and hopefully you're on your way to a long and healthy pregnancy.

I understand how you feel. My mc'd twins in Jan of 2009 and became pregnant with the boys in April 2009. I didn't tell anyone I was expecting until my 12th week, and by that time I also knew I was having twins, so I got to tell people I was pregnant AND it was twins. When I told my mom she said next time you have news like that tell me to get a glass of wine first lol. Good luck!

I would say go in for bloodwork, and get the 2nd blood work 48 hrs from then ... surely if there's an emergency in between now and Jan 9th they would fit you in.
