Because of the passover holiday, I was planning a trip to visit my parents, I was reassured that I would have an appointment with the peri the day I was leaving, so I would have a good idea of what if anything was going on. So today on my way to the appointment they called to cancel the appointment, some emergency happened.
I am a major hypochondriac and always think that they are going to tell me that I am beginning to dilate or something like that, so it's very reassuring to have that nice internal ultrasound....
I tried calling my OB, but he's not in yet, but either way he doesnt have the same kind of equipment in his office.

Because of the holiday, I really cant push off this trip, so that is not an option.

Everything has been going well so far, should i just relax, or any other advice?

Oh no that's too bad about the appointment. Hopefully you can see your OB and he can reassure you it'll be ok. How far away are you planning to travel? I worried alot for no reason. I know that's not always the case, but I sure wish I wouldn't have worried half as much. They were/are perfect and all my appointments went well.

I'm sorry your appt. got canceled. How far along are you again? Maybe you can get into your OB before you leave. If not, as long as things have been going well, I would just try not to worry about it and enjoy your trip.

ETA: Thanks for adding a ticker to your siggy. :) Now I can see you are almost 31w.

I am sorry your appointment was cancelled, I hate last minute cancellations. Hopefully since they didn't feel the need to see you right away, they think things are ok and you should be fine on your trip. Good luck.

I'd actually call the Peri's office back and tell them you're planning to go out of town and need to at least speak to the Peri about whether you should/should not go even if the Peri doesn't have time for a full appointment. How far away is your parents house? Do you have a plan if you went into early labor? Could you make it back to your regular hospital if you needed to?

If everything has been going well, I'd personally still go, but since you're almost 31 weeks, I'd make sure to take it REALLY easy and drink extra water so you stay healthy while you're away from home.

My parents live about a 3 hour drive, in a major city with good hospitals, I have a doc I could use in case of an emergency, I would have seen someone before hand, as a preventative measure. Just to do a quick cervical check. etc

I think that being at my parents house will be more relaxing for me than dealing with my kids who are off of school for the next 2 weeks. I will get more help there.

I hate when that happens! my OB has done that to me a few time and it drove me crazy because I have been paranoid through out the whole pregnancy as it is. I dont exactly understand what the emergency's are because I remember with my son I only saw the OB a couple times for a few minutes till it was time to push, besides that it was all nurses... <_<

I would go to your parents, your always more pampered at mom and dad's than at home.. :D ....As long as there's hospitals your comfortable with close by in case of an emergency.

That's frustrating. I agree, if everything has been pretty normal throughout your preg I'd still go. You probably ARE better off w your parents, less work for you. Especially since there are lots of hospitals and you have a back up dr!

    Have fun!
