Peri appointment today, we're having...

GIRLS, identical girls! Well they could only get a good shot at baby B, but since they're identical, it's 99.9% likely baby A is a girl as well. So the babies are doing well, the peri said he wanted to watch some fluid in B's kidneys but said not to worry because it's very common but it could indicate Down's. Also, looks like my cervix is starting to shorten (2.37cm) and I might have to get a cerclage and/or go on bed rest. They'll check it again in 2 weeks. It looks like this pregnancy isn't going to be easy but nothing with me ever is.

 

Congrats on 2 girls! As far as your cervix, I would take it very easy until your next appointment.

Sorry to hear about the cervix, that sounds short for your gestation. I too would take it very easy until a decision is made at your next appointment.

Do you know what your initial length was? Shortening this soon is scary to me and waiting two weeks is kinda scary too!

Also wanted to say that I had the same kidney thing show up in Baby A - and both boys had it when they were born - and it was just a question of their kidneys not being fully developed when they were examined by U/S - I'm sure everything will be fine - it's very common

so exciting! Ditto on pp's about your cervix; the more time you can spend NOT on your feet is better - in fact, lying down rather than sitting because sitting puts the same pressure as standing. You might want to ask about the two week wait....this is not to alarm you, just to be cautious!

 

YAY two girls! But how do they tell ID already? My peri would say for sure either way until delivery. Frats can share a placenta if they fuse (this happened to my cousin's wife who has frat twin boys who they thought were ID until delivery!)
